We were lucky to catch up with Iryna Bublyk recently and have shared our conversation below.
Iryna , thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Everyone has crazy stuff happen to them, but often small business owners and creatives, artists and others who are doing something off the beaten path are hit with things (positive or negative) that are so out there, so unpredictable and unexpected. Can you share a crazy story from your journey?
Beauty Phoenix
I opened my first beauty studio in Kyiv, Ukraine in 2019. When I returned from vacation, I found that the building was seized, and for about a month, I was not even allowed to pick up my things. Almost immediately, I opened a second studio, but after 5 months, a war broke out in Ukraine, and I had to flee the country. So, I ended up in the United States, where from scratch in a new culture and with a new language, Im trying to continue to do my mission and make the world more beautiful.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I am Iryna Bublyk, a beauty coach, educator, makeup artist, and hairstylist. I moved from Ukraine to the USA 5 months ago and trying to rebuild my life from scratch here.
I’m a finance specialist by education, and I used to work as an economist in a large Ukrainian telecommunications company. However, one day I felt the desire for change and growth in my life, and within just 2 weeks, I decided to quit my job and enroll in a makeup school. That’s how I entered the beauty industry, and it was a spontaneous decision that I’ve never regretted.
For the past 8 years, I’ve been giving women a sense of uniqueness, beauty, and self-worth through makeup. I have the gift of understanding people and knowing which look will best represent their best features and their true desire to stand out and express themselves.
My greatest pride is my happy clients and their shining eyes! It motivates me to keep developing and moving forward to beautify this world even more.
Currently, I work as a wedding stylist, participate in photoshoots of various themes, and teach aspiring colleagues the art of makeup.
With me, a client receives not only professionalism and a unique look but also a comfortable atmosphere and positive emotions.

Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
In 2019, I opened my first beauty studio in Kyiv, Ukraine, where I worked with clients and trained my students. One day, upon returning from vacation, I was denied access to my office because the building was seized by armed forces. Only a month later, I was allowed to take all my stuff and leave.
Almost immediately, I opened a second studio, but after 5 months, the war in Ukraine began, and I had to leave the country to save myself.
I believe I have a high level of resilience to life’s stressful situations, and I know I can always rebuild myself in any country.

What do you think helped you build your reputation within your market?
I always run my business with honesty! I approach each order responsibly and treat every person with respect. Moreover, I strive to always smile, maintain a positive attitude, and look great because creating a pleasant atmosphere while working with clients is crucial. It matters to me how people feel around me and how much they trust me as a professional.
I believe the key to an impeccable reputation in the beauty market lies in responsibility, honesty, positive energy, communication skills, and, of course, talent.
