We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Irina Saryyeva a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Irina thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. We’d love to hear about when you first realized that you wanted to pursue a creative path professionally.
As a child, I was fascinated by drawing and would spend hours sketching on paper. My curiosity soon led me to experiment with felt-tip pens, using them to paint the faces of girls in my mother’s fashion magazines. I was captivated by the ability to create shadows, draw eyelashes, and define lips. This early passion only grew stronger with time, and I soon found myself doing makeup for my friends, who were thrilled with the results. After completing school, it was a natural choice to pursue a career in makeup artistry, and I enthusiastically enrolled in a specialized school to hone my skills.”
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
As a wedding makeup artist and hairstylist, I have the honor of being a part of the most memorable day in a person’s life. I revel in the joy and excitement that surrounds me as I work with brides, bridesmaids, and families to create a flowless looks that capture their essence. From natural and elegant to bold and glamorous, I thrive on the challenge of bringing each person’s vision to life. And as I travel to beautiful venues, witnessing the tears of happiness and the laughter that fills the air, I am reminded of the privilege it is to be a part of this special day. The moment a bride sees her transformed self in the mirror, and her eyes light up with delight, is the greatest reward I could ask for.
We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?
The social media is like the ultimate way to get yourself out there these days! If you’re doing something creative and sharing it, you’ll totally find people who are into the same stuff. Clients, advertisers, collaborators… they’re all just a post away! And honestly, I learn so much from my colleagues on social media – we’re always asking each other questions and swapping tips. It’s like a never-ending learning fest! And the best part? We ‘re all lifting each other up and making our work better together.
Any resources you can share with us that might be helpful to other creatives?
15 years ago, when I was just starting my journey as a makeup artist, social networks were not as developed and popular as they are now. I would like to know more about how to promote my Instagram and expand my audience.
I know a few tips for those who are just starting to manage their social networks:
Promote your Instagram on other platforms: Share your Instagram content on Facebook, Twitter, and other social media platforms to drive traffic to your Instagram.
Post regularly to keep your audience engaged and coming back for more!
Remember, building an audience takes time and effort, but with persistence and creativity, you can grow your following and promote your Instagram!”
