We recently connected with Irina Burt and have shared our conversation below.
Irina, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Let’s start big picture – what are some of biggest trends you are seeing in your industry?
Lately, one of the biggest trends we’ve been seeing in the photo booth world is a shift toward video content – especially short, shareable videos like testimonials or fun branded clips. Photos are still great, but more clients are asking for something guests can say, dance, or move in – not just a still photo.
We had an event recently where a client skipped the usual photo setup and asked us to create a private video booth where guests could answer a few quick questions on camera. Think mini interviews, but casual and fun. People were honestly a little hesitant at first – but once a few guests tried it, it took off. By the end of the night, there was a line. Everyone wanted their 15 seconds of fame and a video they could share.
Since we tailor more toward corporate clients, these videos didn’t just end up on Instagram – they made their way to LinkedIn and internal company platforms, too.
The client walked away with tons of authentic content they could actually use for marketing – way better than just another group photo.
The opportunity here is huge: brands want more real, relatable content. Video gives them that, and it lets us offer something way more unique than your typical booth.
The challenge? People get nervous on camera. So everything has to be easy, well-lit, and quick. If it feels awkward or too techy, it kills the vibe.
But when it works? It really works.

Irina, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
We’re Time Into Pixels – a photo and video experience company based in Minneapolis. We specialize in high-end photo booth setups, video testimonial booths, and branded activations for events across the U.S. (and occasionally beyond). Our work blends creativity, technology, and thoughtful guest experiences.
We started this business over a decade ago after working in wedding photography and noticing how much people connected with the candid, unscripted moments from photo booths. At the time, most booths were outdated and uninspired – so we set out to create something better. Clean, modern designs, high-quality output, and setups that actually enhance the overall event.
Since then, we’ve worked with Fortune 500 companies, luxury brands, nonprofits, and private clients. We offer a wide range of services – from traditional photo booths and GIF booths to branded video testimonial stations, 360 booths, and fully custom activations. What sets us apart is the level of detail, reliability, and design we bring to each event. We’re not just setting up a booth – we’re creating an experience that aligns with the client’s brand, goals, and audience.
We help clients in a number of ways – capturing usable, on-brand content, driving engagement, creating memorable guest interactions, and offering seamless, stress-free execution. Whether it’s a conference, wedding, or marketing campaign, our goal is always the same: deliver a polished, thoughtful, and high-quality experience.
What we’re most proud of is the trust we’ve built. Many of our clients come back year after year, and much of our work comes through referrals. That kind of long-term relationship means a lot.
At the end of the day, we want clients to know that when they work with Time Into Pixels, they’re working with a team that takes quality, professionalism, and client experience seriously from start to finish.
Have you ever had to pivot?
A big pivot moment for us happened during the early days of the pandemic. Overnight, every event on our calendar was either canceled or indefinitely postponed. Like most event-based businesses, we were faced with a tough reality: no events meant no income, and no clear idea when things would return.
Instead of waiting it out, we decided to shift our focus. We leaned into our tech background and started building out virtual photo booth experiences that could be used for remote conferences, brand activations, and even virtual weddings. At the same time, we launched a tech support company specifically for photo booth owners who suddenly needed help going virtual, troubleshooting gear, or keeping their businesses alive.
That pivot not only helped us stay afloat – it opened an entirely new side of our business that still exists today. We now support dozens of other photo booth companies with remote tech services, and it pushed us to innovate faster than we probably would have otherwise.
It was one of those moments where we were forced to adapt – and in the process, ended up stronger and more diversified than before.

How do you keep your team’s morale high?
One thing that’s been really important for us in managing our team and keeping morale high is creating an environment where people feel supported, appreciated, and set up for success.
We invest in our team from day one – that means solid training, clear expectations, and making sure they have everything they need to do the job well. We also believe in small but meaningful perks that make people feel valued: a stocked fridge at the office and gift cards for employees to grab lunch, regular internal check-ins, and company parties that let us all reset and connect outside of work.
We hold internal meetings not just to go over logistics, but to share wins, brainstorm, and keep everyone aligned with where we’re going as a company. We want our team to feel like they’re part of something that’s growing and evolving – not just clocking in and out.
When people feel prepared, included, and appreciated, they naturally do better work. That’s been our biggest takeaway: happy teams build strong businesses.
