We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Irina Adams. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Irina below.
Irina, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Almost all entrepreneurs have had to decide whether to start now or later? There are always pros and cons for waiting and so we’d love to hear what you think about your decision in retrospect. If you could go back in time, would you have started your business sooner, later or at the exact time you started?
I graduated from college in 2017 with a BBA degree in Accounting and Business Economics from Michigan. Today, I can proudly say that I have pursued a different dream of running my Photography business full-time in Arizona. If given the choice to invest time and money into College or start my business right away, I wouldn’t change a thing. I personally believe that everything happens at the proper place and time, while I have a lot of gratitude and pride from graduating from College, I do not see myself working in the accounting field again. It took me close to 8 years to master my skills and gain enough courage to say ” I can do this full-time.” My experiences shaped the person I am today and instead of looking back at the past, I choose to look forward and accept new opportunities.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers
The Full Story
Hello, my name is Irina and I am the owner of Irina Adams Photography LLC. I specialize in portraits, weddings, couples, families, and individuals. My signature look is to deliver photos with a creamy and perfectly blurred background behind the subject.
I began my photography journey in 2015 after I had my daughter. Growing up I used to dislike having my photo taken because I always felt uncomfortable in the photos. Raise your hand if you can relate! My biggest goal is to make my clients comfortable and provide a positive experience. I want my clients to frame my finished work and art in their homes and be proud of their photos. That’s why I work really hard to take care of all the planning, location, wardrobe, and all the little details so you can just show up and have fun at the photoshoot!
Before photography, my hobbies included painting with watercolor and oils. Although I haven’t painted since having my daughter, I now enjoy taking pictures, cooking, and fitness. I get my inspiration mainly from traveling, being outdoors, and listening to music.
I hope to meet you soon!
What else should we know about how you took your side hustle and scaled it up into what it is today?
I started photography when my youngest was born to better document precious moments and to have beautiful family photos. At the time, I was still a student in College, and Photography allowed me the flexibility to be a student and a parent while bringing in some extra income. Fast forward 8 years, my skills were bringing in more income and Photography was a great backbone even while working full time. After having my second child, juggling small children and work became overwhelming, and I decided to become self-employed to pursue my dreams and to be there for my family.
How do you keep in touch with clients and foster brand loyalty?
I am currently working on creating monthly newsletters to send out to all of my clients to keep them updated with current promotions or events in my business. I often provide incentives for loyal customers and reward client referrals with discounted sessions.
