Irayda, appreciate you joining us today. Risking taking is a huge part of most people’s story but too often society overlooks those risks and only focuses on where you are today. Can you talk to us about a risk you’ve taken – it could be a big risk or a small one – but walk us through the backstory.
I am so great full that my business started growing up so fast specially for creating jobs opening locations around the Valley but it wasn’t easy career for me when I was in a immigration status looking for my green card 17 years. Now I am participating as a board of member for different organizations like National Immigration Forum to use the same platform that I did for myself but now in support the immigrant Community specially for those who are in this country for decades growing in business just like me and of course the students DACA who deserve the best and to be legally in this country.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
I have been working in the seafood industry for many years but one of my biggest challenges in business is creating my Bacanora brand “Sutucame” I’m so passionate with this project because I grew up among Bacanora in Sonora, Mexico and it’s basically what it connects me with my roots and now I can bring something that is so me, something artisanal, cultural with a lot story behind my brand and at the same time creating jobs especially to the native community, we have had created 123 jobs just in this new project and the 30% of the net profit will destined to the indigenous kids and organizations to support women’s who inspire to start new businesses I am so exited to bring an artisanal Bacanora that anyone can join in a delicious spirit coctel

10 years ago I started to organize a turkey event at the parking lot outside my business location among business owners around the plaza in which we give away turkeys, free breakfast with life music in a Thanksgiving Day Celebration for the less fortunate families, 3 years ago I founded the first and the only Hispanic Rotary Club “Club Rotario de Phoenix” in the United States with a 501-C3 non profit that allows me to do even more for my Community beside my business, this is something that I love to do in helping others and with the Rotary Club I have been working with great members in amazing protects for our communities.
