Intuitive Tara, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Alright, so you had your idea and then what happened? Can you walk us through the story of how you went from just an idea to executing on the idea
I have been especially focused on my party and event business. It’s grown substantially over recent years. Shortly after I started reading Palms in High School, I went on a cruise for a week with my dad. One day I was reading some new friends I had made on the boat. We were hanging out in the disco lounge. The next thing I know there was a long line in front of me across the dance floor. There also was a woman who started translating Spanish for all her friends and family who were on the ship from Columbia. I was only 17. It was still all very new and surprising for me. I just decided to go along for the ride, which embarked me on a whole new journey. Looking back on it now, it truly gave me the confidence that I could read people and make a difference in their lives, which made my heart smile. I went to different parties and clubs between my late teens and mid-20s, where people would just keep gathering around me like I was the entertainment and the line could go on for a couple of hours. It sort of just became normal for a while, and it was happening before I even signed up to do it. It kept validating and affirming my intuitive abilities. One day my dad asked me if I would read for someone’s fashion Show. It was exhilarating. That same person then hired me professionally to read for a retirement party. I started doing more professional parties over the years and got hired for a lot of birthdays. I do a lot of kids and teen parties, Such as Sweet 16s, and bar/bat mitzvahs too. Halloween is the busiest time of the year by far. After the first two years of the coronavirus and people postponing their weddings and putting off having babies. I started to get a lot of requests for bachelorette parties, wedding events, baby showers, and graduation parties like never before. People were anxious to get back out and celebrate their milestones. I also read for a lot of corporate holiday parties.
I love all the different events, themes, and festivities. I have so much gratitude for being able to connect with so many amazing people from all walks of life and for having such deep, meaningful, and fun interactions. I give out different crystal charm necklaces to everyone. I enjoy dressing up in mystical outfits or to match different themes. I love being creative, even down to the way I get to set up the tables with vibrant tapestries and zen-like decorations. I’ve read for many different types of events and groups. I have done readings for patients in an aftercare facility who missed their homes and family. They needed some love and uplifting energy. I read for a sober living event, celebrating sobriety and life. I have done parties from an annual Halloween party for a law firm to readings for fashion shows, grand openings, and art events. Just like I do a variety of events, I do a variety of different readings. I do psychic readings using my clairvoyant abilities. I pull oracle cards with my intuition. I also do numerology which tells you about your life path. It also predicts what’s to come and confirms what’s going on for the year based on your date of birth.
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I grew up bicoastal. In 1990 I moved from my native town New York City to California, where I completed my last two years of high school. My former stepmother then asked me if I wanted to take a class at a metaphysical center where she was attending classes too. I decided to explore palmistry. A few years prior when I was in Junior High School in New York, I started to connect to my intuition. Due to some experiences, I realized I was not fully ready to be vulnerable with sharing my natural abilities then. Looking back in hindsight, It was not the right time or place to wholeheartedly utilize and embrace my intuitive skills quite yet; due to the angst of what I may get and feel intuitively. I did not know what to do if I were to see something negative that I could not prevent. I needed a little time and experience to learn how to deliver information in the best ways and feel grounded in the responsibility of it. I also wanted to protect myself a little from any harsh skepticism. When I was in High school in California, I started putting my palm reading skills into practice. My fellow schoolmates loved it. They would always come to me for readings. I quickly discovered I was getting more details and specific information than I learned in Palmistry class. A few years later I was back in New York for a while and word was spreading through my neighborhood fast, putting my intuition to the test. People would gather around or even follow me to give them readings. It was fun, but sometimes it was a little overwhelming at times, it helped pave the way to where I am today and taught me some healthy boundaries too. One day some nice guy who owned a local pizzeria asked me for a reading and handed me 20 bucks after. I was excited. I didn’t expect it and was grateful for how people appreciated my insight. I saw it was bringing people joy and clarity, and knowing that brought me joy too. In 1995 I moved back to Cali permanently and was a massage therapist. I worked for a chiropractor who believed in me and referred some of our massage clients to have readings during their massages. Those experiences were validating vehicles that brought me back to my intuition and showed me everything happens for a reason and that this was part of my life purpose. It felt destined for me to become a reader, and I discovered my other intuitive talents along the way. Palm reading just happened to be a source to help me recognize and tap into my clairvoyant abilities.
In my twenties, other personal and life-changing experiences helped me to grow spiritually and recognize my other intuitive capabilities. Unfortunately, my neighbor’s son passed away abruptly from a seizure. Shortly after his death, I was picking up messages from him to my surprise. I hardly knew his parents then, but I felt guided to tell them that their late beloved son wanted them to go on a date with each other on Balboa Island. His father validated that he had met his mom there many years ago. Then his mom told me a few days after, that her son told her a few days before he passed that he wanted her and his dad to go on a date and was encouraging it. I also told his dad I was getting the names, Jessica and Phil. His father’s jaw dropped in awe and amazement as he said he “had a daughter he hadn’t seen in years in Germany.” I believe his son wanted to have them reconnect. He also said Phil was a little kid his son played with a couple of days before he died. He was astonished by the information and instantly became a believer, as did I too. I had recently started working at a metaphysical store. That week a woman came in to connect to her father on the other side. People just kept continuing to come in for channeling and validated the details I was receiving from their loved ones. I thank Derek, my young angel neighbor for choosing to trust me to deliver his messages to his parents. And for showing me my mediumship skills.
I also do intuitive channeling for people who want to connect with their animals who have crossed over. I also do animal communication in general. Over time people started bringing animals to me. I saw how they were trusting me and were so receptive to it. It has been rewarding and an honor to help them communicate messages to their pet parents and help assist them with any health issues. I even helped some owners find their missing pet babies. Nothing better than helping a furry friend.
What’s been the most effective strategy for growing your clientele?
The good old” word of mouth” way. What started as an instinctual curiosity and turned into a fun hobby, became a professional career and meaningful life path. I could have not done it without the support of good friends and family. Referrals have been the biggest asset in building my business for sure. I have read for psychic fairs in the past and even put some together myself. which helped market my services and helped other readers as well. I also give a lot of credit to the metaphysical stores I have worked at as an independent contractor in the past and now for my in-store clientele. I also get a lot of party and event business from online event and gig sites, as well as repeat clients. It’s important to set a positive intention and believe in yourself, what you do, and who you’re doing it for.
Any stories or insights that might help us understand how you’ve built such a strong reputation?
Being an honest and ethical intuitive counselor. Having a good reputation as an authentic reader and a steady history of accuracy helped too. More than just marketing my business; it just bloomed from love, compassion, and understanding. It was never just about making money or a career for me. I followed my heart and it led me here. I read each person on an individual basis and feel what they need. People like having insight and clarity, but beyond that people appreciate when you genuinely get them and what they are going through. I hear that from my clients a lot. I have been through my share of personal life challenges and chronic health issues for higher reasons. It has helped me to understand different aspects of life and get people’s circumstances. I just pick up information without them saying much or asking certain questions. I love to help with solutions and bring insight and inspiration.
