We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Ingrid Jordan. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Ingrid below.
Ingrid , appreciate you joining us today. Can you open up about a risk you’ve taken – what it was like taking that risk, why you took the risk and how it turned out?
Oddly enough it seems as if I take a risk everyday. Life itself is so uncertain that every choice you make is a risk, nothing is a guaranteed definite. My biggest risk was trusting myself, sounds crazy I know, but it’s intense when you have to trust you will break barriers without any resources. Trusting my judgement on meeting new people in my life to be loyal to a collective goal of greatness. I risked trusting myself when my back was against the wall to perform. Everyday I trust the sight that can’t see. My eye disease being the gift and curse all in one. This flaw made me sharper, made me more instinctive, made me great. Imagine reading scripts in acting class when the time is ticking and memorizing them at that very instant, BOOM! It’s time to perform ready or not ACTION! I’m still embracing my eye disease and taking my gift to the next level. Everything I trusted all stemmed from first trusting God.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
Hello beautiful world, greetings from Ingrid Jordan. Louisiana native, so yes I love spicy food, I’m an award winning actress and also an award winning producer. We’ll dive into a few more hats I wear in a sec, but I definitely make it clear I am an actress first before anything. I made my way into this industry starting out doing voiceover classes with my best friend. I later got an agent and decided to attend acting classes and fell in love with the feeling. One fun fact about me would be I have a love for Marvel movies to the point If I had one wish or prayer to send up to God about my desired role, it’s most definitely be a Marvel movie role. Now, back to those other hats I wear. I’m also a casting director for independent films and hope to cast for bigger productions as well. I am the Co-Owner of “Reel Deal” Studios, which is a company for actors to get their demo reels done. We provide the script, the location, and we edit it. We also provide coaching for our clients per acting scene.
Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
I realized I never had a “go to” method when it came to coping with my childhood traumas. My first movie produced by me, which is titled “Unbowed”, was my means of therapy unintentionally. This story was loosely based on my true events. I put all my pain into action and God carried the rest. Being raped at an early age was definitely traumatizing. I’m just glad my heart is still pure and loving.

For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
The general reward is to see how many people you have touched and motivated that you had no clue about. The text messages and comments on post of testimonies from my closet peers and strangers is the reward. Art is being creative and being creative is art. I absolutely love to think outside the norm and challenge the impossible. I no longer allow myself to think failure, nor do I even give the word meaning at all. If you don’t succeed at a particular task because you actually took a risk at something so left field to expand your craft, I’ll take that “L”. That “L” is lesson, not a loss. Lastly, the overall reward that has been in my tunnnel vision since a little girl, is to win my Oscar! In due time…
