We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Ingrid Ginn a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Ingrid , looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. We’d love to have you retell us the story behind how you came up with the idea for your business, I think our audience would really enjoy hearing the backstory.
I believe God gave everybody a gift. Since I have memory, I always been a craft person. I remember that I used to make some craft things and I used to sell them at my school.
On September 23rd, 2020 I open my business, because I started making earrings with polymer clay for me or to give as a gift to my friends, but my husband and my girls told me that they were really pretty and I must sell them.
Ingrid , before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I’m a latina woman living in South Carolina. I worked for almost 30 years in the Admin field back to my home Country Colombia and also here in USA. Back to 2020 I opened my business and I started selling my products in some Events, Fairs, etc. here in Charleston.
Little by little I started growing and God opened a great door for me in the Charleston City Market, one of the nation’s oldest public markets and the cultural heart of Charleston.
Today I hired my two daughters and we are in the Market Monday – Saturday.
Can you open up about how you funded your business?
Thanks God I count with a wonderful husband that support me. He helped me with everything. I was able to returned the initial capital in less than a year. Actually, in this month (October) a year ago, I quit to my full time job to be fulltime in my business.
How do you keep your team’s morale high?
“Do everything as if you were doing it for God” So, you will be happy, motived and grateful.
