Alright, $inful thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Are you happier as a creative? Do you sometimes think about what it would be like to just have a regular job? Can you talk to us about how you think through these emotions?

Before deciding to be an artist full time, I did everything the traditional way. After I graduated high school, I put my creative side to the back burner and worked towards a normal life. I went to college, majored in criminal justice, danced as my main hobby, graduated college and got a job as a juvenile case manager, but nothing about the traditional life satisfied me. I would be in my office writing lyrics, planning out content and music videos, talking to my kids about music and their artistic interests until I finally mustard up the courage to quit and solely focus on being an artist. Since then I’ve been able to thrive in my element, hone in on my skills, and really explore within my own creative mind and it’s the happiest I’ve been because I’m doing what I actually want to do.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.

My name is $inful Bluu and I’m a musical artist from Hollywood, FL. Music has been a huge part of my life as it was introduced to me as a child, starting with the church choir. Growing up, I found myself to be very intrigued by anything in the creative world and my curiosities lead to passions that I am now living through.

My artistry can be described as a mystery box because you never know what you’re going to get. I promote and encourage versatility and it’s evident through my craft. I’ve never been one to stay in a box, I like to let my curiosity and creativity take me to new places necessary to create masterpieces. My artistry can also be described as a sour patch kids candy because I express myself through two versions: $inful Bluu and $B The GøD. $inful Bluu is the “sweet” version, where the melodies of masterpieces derive from while $B The GøD is the “sour” version where hardcore rhymes and rap comes to
play.

The best part of my artistry is when the two versions merge together to create a cadence that’s different in the music world. I believe my music definitely fits in the genre-bending category and will be amongst those that change the world.

For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?

When projects are done and you listen to or watch what you’ve created in its final form. When you watch people digest such complex parts of you in the form of art. You just sit back, and sometimes you’re in disbelief cause you’re like “wow… I did this. I created this”. Just being able to create anything is such a mind blowing thing because it all started from completely nothing. So it’s so rewarding to just be able to create so many things from thin air, kind of makes you feel magical.

Do you think there is something that non-creatives might struggle to understand about your journey as a creative? Maybe you can shed some light?

I believe non-creatives struggle to understand money is probably one of least important things when it comes to a creative’s journey and everything is a choice. I don’t create for the money. I choose to create because this is what makes me happy. This is freedom to me. Working for somebody doesn’t give me the joy creating does. Working for somebody doesn’t give me the freedom creating does. Working for somebody, to me is a great fund for creativity but is more of a hobby. Creating isn’t a hobby, to me. I would rather work to generate income from my own mind than to spend my life putting my creativity on a shelf to work for the world.
