We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Ines Ferreira. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Ines below.
Ines , looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Let’s jump to the end – what do you want to be remembered for?
I was born and raised in Brazil, where I earned scholarships to study and specialize in Marketing. The books we read and the examples our professors provided were often related to the United States, which sparked my interest in coming here. I participate in various research projects to help platforms better understand consumer behavior. Simultaneously, I assist in promoting various Latin businesses based here in the United States. It’s as if my current work, through communication, involves helping organizations, companies, talents, and projects collaborate to foster greater unity. It also demonstrates that, despite our different languages, the desire for a better world and effective communication is universal!
Ines , love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I co-founded a marketing agency, a startup that focuses on helping individuals who want to sell, promote, export, and connect with the Latin audience, especially those who speak Brazilian Portuguese. New York BPM agency emerged during the pandemic to assist small businesses in modernizing and avoiding complete closure. Although the pandemic has passed, the methods we utilize remain valid for promoting products, services, events, and more.
Currently, we have a Key Account (KA) who represents a non-profit organization that aids vulnerable immigrant women. It’s very fulfilling for me to be able to use my knowledge and experience to help others through fundraising efforts. Recently, we organized an auction for the NGO, which was a great success and an opportunity to promote local businesses and increase visibility.
Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
I come from an extremely impoverished family, and being poor in the United States is less intense and stressful compared to being poor in a country that was the last to abolish slavery. So, it has been a journey of overcoming obstacles and relying on a lot of creativity. Today, I’m in a position to support my family in Brazil and my community here in New York and regions.
We often hear about learning lessons – but just as important is unlearning lessons. Have you ever had to unlearn a lesson?
The most important lesson I’ve learned is that the purpose of my life is to use communication to build bridges, not walls. This gives me hope that diversity brings creativity, and the world needs it. Due to my social and cultural ascent, I can see aspects that people from different backgrounds may not. So, I understand how I am necessary for having a broad, comprehensive, and diverse worldview.
