We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Indrea Gordon a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Indrea, appreciate you joining us today. We’d love to hear from you about what you think Corporate America gets wrong in your industry and why it matters.
They do not acknowledge the buying power and the trend settings of the African-American culture. I do believe this is by design. In fact, it is noticed it’s just not mentioned as much as it should be. Garments are not produced with the African body in mind yet we lead many clothing and beauty markets in sales as it compares to our counterparts.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
We are a bespoke design house where we specialize in crafting custom garments, formal attire, and chic ready-to-wear collections tailored for women and girls. Our expertise lies in a dedicated focus on curating personalized business attire for female entrepreneurs. We take pride in helping busy women easily transition their custom clothing from the office to nightlife.
I got into the industry three months after graduating high school. I’ve known since I was 9 years old that I wanted to be a designer.
The problems I solve. I help busy female entrepreneurs curate their brand message through their wardrobe. We focus on putting looks together that easily transcend from the office to nightlife. If it’s transitioning from the office to a kids soccer game or the office to a dinner date, We position our clients with grab-and-go customizable looks so they can focus on family and business and still fashionably make a statement.
What sets QUAD apart from others is that we focus on the “whole” woman. We customize looks that cater to the woman’s current business and life and where she wants to go. We design from the inside out, focusing on the psychological effects of clothing.
What I’m most proud of is my Kiddy QUAD Fashion Without Limitations program (FWOL), which features my special needs babies on the runway. Wheelchair-bound, non-verbal, and more. We welcome them on all major platforms. Many have debuted with us in New York during NYFW.
What we want people to know about us. We operate on integrity. We understand the clothing we create is a talent, but the real gift from God is how you make a person feel when wearing it.

Do you have any insights you can share related to maintaining high team morale?
In running a bespoke design house for women’s clothing, it’s key to make personalized business attire that seamlessly transitions from work to nightlife. Keep the team vibe creative and dedicated, celebrating each person’s unique contributions. Open communication and collaboration are a must to foster a positive environment. Look out for the well-being and growth of your team, offering opportunities for skill development. Embrace diversity in both your clients and team, recognizing the unique perspectives each brings. Above all, uphold integrity and a commitment to making people feel confident and empowered through the clothing you create.
Any stories or insights that might help us understand how you’ve built such a strong reputation?
What helped me build my reputation within my market was a combination of factors. Firstly, my early entry into the industry, just three months after graduating high school, allowed me to accumulate valuable experience and establish myself at a young age. Additionally, having a clear career goal since the age of 9 demonstrated my passion and dedication to becoming a designer.
The core of my reputation is built on the problems I solve for my clients. By focusing on assisting busy female entrepreneurs in curating their brand message through wardrobe, I address a specific need in the market. Creating looks that seamlessly transition from office to various aspects of their lives, positions my brand as a solution provider for the modern woman juggling family and business.
