India, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Let’s jump right into the heart of things. Outsiders often think businesses or industries have much larger profit margins than they actually do – the reason is that outsiders are often unaware of the biggest challenges to profitability in various industries – what’s the biggest challenge to profitability in your industry?

I would say that my biggest challenge is having conference in myself in knowing I can do it but doubt does creep in, sometimes I would let what I have heard get to me or what I think folks would say like oh, you want get this far because you don’t have this degree in this or that field or you are a girl and women can’t do much or fulfill like men can. I would say starting from the ground up it is very difficult, because you have to showcase who you are to the world and send out the right message. You have to know from A to B what steps you want to take how you want to play out your ideas how are you going to promote yourself How are you going to get folks attention to buy or work with you, it is a lot of work. I always tell people I am always up for the challenge because I grew up and was taught to have faith and believe in yourself, my favorite bible scripture is Philippians 4:13 “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me” because I know it is something big at the end of all this grinding.

India, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?

I would like to introduce myself first my name is India Hall I was born in Memphis, Tn but raised in Mississippi so I like to tell folks im a city/country girl. I am an Entrepreneur I am a Photographer, I cook, T Shirt Marker, A Content Creator, and a Rapper. I was raised up in church. I graduated from Gateway Christian High School back in 2019 and attended Northwest Community college in 2021.

I been cooking majority of my life, I get my cooking skills from my mother. I was ten years old when I came up with a microwave dish that the whole family enjoyed and wanted me to make every weekend. I continued to cook as I got older and in 2020 I started my own cooking show online called India’s Kitchen Love and Encouragement. I still cook till this day on Tik Tok and get over 500 views.

I’ve always loved music and I loved listening to different beats to try to freestyle off of them, but I did not like how my voice would sound on microphones but I use to tell myself if the other artists could rap then I can too. so I got the courage and I wrote and recorded my first song in 2020 called Sympathy. After I released my first song I end up doing ten other singles including a feature. I do believe that is how I got comfortable with the internet and was able to record myself doing pretty much everything like cooking, making dance videos, skits etc. I had gotten very comfortable with hearing my voice on videos. This is the reason why I am a Content Creator.

When I was younger my cousin use to let me use her camera I’ve always been a fan of being in pictures but I had never thought about taking them professionally but I had been known how to use one of them big cameras. I had a person to tell me one day that I should go ahead and step out on faith and try the photography business out to see how I may like it. In October of 2022 two weeks before my birthday I bought myself my first professional camera and I decided to officially start my own Photography business called TheSwagQueen.PhotoSSS I have done multiple shoots and a year later I end up changing the name to The VIP Photography. I have done behind the scenes, promo videos and it has gained attention on Tik Tok and FaceBook.

There is really no back story for this one. I would say T Shirt making was just something I tested to see if I could actually do it. I do T Shirts for each holiday for the whole year. My birthday in October of 2023 I customized all my clothes for the whole weekend. I am working on a clothing line that I can not say right now but it is under construction.

I tell people I think what sets me apart from everyone else is the fact that I am Self Motivated. I expect help from people. I like to try to do things on my own. I like being independent. My parents use to always tell me not to depend on anyone but Jesus and I took that and ran with it. I am not looking for hand outs, sympathy, hand claps, I am grinding so hard because I want to retire early, make sure my family is set up nicely for life, and to show the doubters and the folks that don’t support that I don’t need y’all.

I am most proud of the woman that God has made me to be. I am thankful that he made me multitasked, humbled, and an encourager to other people.

I want folks to know that I do not give up. I am a grinder I go 100 percent in anything I do. I am not scared of a challenge. My brands will one day be the biggest and hottest thing out there because of the swag, colors, and creativity. My work is passionate I really take pride in what I do to make sure a customer is happy and so I can keep them coming back. I am good in conversating with people whether it is dealing with sports, cooking, etc. You have to know how to pull people in and keep your crowd. If you are not trying your hardest to make your business pop then what are you doing?.

How did you build your audience on social media?

I just like to tell folks to do and be you. You can be the best you can be if you try to, One thing I was always taught was to always be yourself and to be a leader and not a follower, pay attention to what is trending on social media, take that and see if you could change it up to make it different or do the complete opposite of what the trend is. Sit down and think about what you are good at you have a lot of people that is into different things so if you like to cook do little reels of a dish and post on FaceBook make content to post on YouTube just anything you want. Always remember to be yourself and don’t copy other people.

When you are trying to build up views and followers always remember 2 things. Stay consistent and have your ideas written down. You can’t upload a video one day and it be 2 weeks later before you upload another one because you have to think of the next video idea. When you get to a point where you have enough followers then that is when you can take breaks and not have to worry about losing your audience.

What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?

You are your own BOSS. I love being the one in charge. I really get to be myself and not worrying about a person looking over my shoulder. You get to see your ideas and hard work pay off, you know it is not in vain because someone eventually is going to see it and like it.
