Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Immaculate. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Immaculate, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. We’d love to have you retell us the story behind how you came up with the idea for your business, I think our audience would really enjoy hearing the backstory.
I wanted to get little girls of color to look up. The Trap Aerialist is here to be a beacon of light for all the young ladies that haven’t had a role model they could literally look up to. The outcasts, the outsiders, the ones no one else really ever understood. I’m here to show them they don’t have to do what all their friends are doing. They don’t need to be like everyone else to be successful. I’m here to tell them it’s ok to stand out and be different. Now when the little girl comes to a show she looks up and sees someone that looks like her doing something they were probably told they couldn’t do. I used the trap music genre as a bridge between the art world to reach the young girls ears so she can look up. She probably will pay less attention to Vivaldi and more attention to Futre playing through the speakers

Immaculate, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I was a dance choreographer who had been hired to do some dance choreography for some friends of mine in a circus. They had hired me to do some dance choreography for one of their upcoming shows and I just stuck around after my dance rehearsal was finished and watched the aerialist practice. I was mesmerized at how graceful they looked. They ended up inviting me to practice with them and I took to it really well from the start. From there I was just kind of adopted by them and they helped me train to become who I am now.

Where do you think you get most of your clients from?
The best source of clientele for me has been exposure from other events. Pictures and videos help out a lot. Social media is a huge resource

Do you have any insights you can share related to maintaining high team morale?
When working with people, sometimes it can be hard not to cut corners and give someone a little less because it would line your pockets a little fatter. Your reputation not just as a business but as a person needs to e in tact as well. People are willing to pay for quality but you have to actually provide quality. Meaning you held up your end of the contract no matter what. People will remember a good experience and tell a few people. If their experience is horrible in any way they will tell everybody! It’s just best to provide them with the best service possible
