We were lucky to catch up with Imani Fayne recently and have shared our conversation below.
Imani , looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Was there a defining moment in your professional career? A moment that changed the trajectory of your career?
In 2020, before the pandemic, I was working two jobs. Once the pandemic first hit I was out of work for months. This was the first time I had an unlimited amount of free time with myself. I’m usually someone who is always on the go but covid sat me down! I started working with my own personal life coach and I started my journey of healing. I started doing the work and started the process of truly learning who I was as a woman and how I wanted to show up in the world. I wanted to forgive others, forgive myself and heal my broken heart.
Imani , love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I am Imani The Queen of Faith Fayne. I was born in Rochester, New York, mainly raised in Nashville, Tennessee. I decided to become a life coach after I started learning how to heal myself, forgive others, and be confident in the woman I am. Through hours of independent study, and different courses, I started to learn different ways to live a more fulfilling life and wanted to show others how to do the same. As women, especially black women, we endure a lot of pain and trauma that is left buried deep inside of us. Trauma can have a negative impact on our current and future life experiences when left unhealed. This led me to also start a virtual women’s empowerment group known as The Queendom. I have created a curriculum to help my clients, as I call it, Claim their Crown.
I offer group coaching, one on one sessions, and motivational speaking. My mission when working with any client is to help them work through different challenges they may currently be facing or situations from the past. I use the methods of journaling, mediation, yoga, and other practices to help my clients raise their vibrations and free themselves from pain that may be stopping them from living the life they want.
My most proudest moments is when I get to witness my clients in a healthier state during and after our sessions.
In my opinion I stand out as a life coach because I work with clients that I can personally relate to what they’re going through or the way they are feeling or have felt. I am a passionate person who believes helping others is my purpose here on earth. Helping people become happier and healthier mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. Which can lead to experiencing life in a more peaceful way. I strive to live life as my highest self and want the same for my clients!
What’s a lesson you had to unlearn and what’s the backstory?
I had to unlearn, always put others before yourself. One of the most important lessons that I had to learn in life is that people come and go in life but the person you will always have is yourself. This is why it’s so important to love yourself but also to learn yourself inside and out. Learn what you like and don’t like. Learn how you want to be treated so that you can teach others how to treat you. Learn what makes you feel most alive and what you love to do. Learn what you feel is your mission on earth and what a gift you are to this world.
Putting training and knowledge aside, what else do you think really matters in terms of succeeding in your field?
When trying to succeed in the field of life coaching, I feel it requires a pure heart for helping others. It requires deep understanding that someone has giving you their trust and vulnerability to help them become a better version of themselves. You have to be able to create a safe space for someone as you support them through this journey of healing. Because it is not easy, but always worth it!
