We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Iman Serbones a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Iman, thanks for joining us today. What do you think matters most in terms of achieving success?
Having a plan, staying consistent and determined, learning how to bounce back from hardships and blocking out irrelevant factors.
I’m always looking for something to keep me on my feet and teach me valuable lessons. I like to have fun in the mix, but always ensure that I’m still on the right track towards my destination.

Iman, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
My love for photography grew as I was taking pictures on my phone in high school. My uncle noticed my interest, and gifted me a camera that he had. I took that camera with me on all my ventures – traveling, concerts, being with my loved ones and capturing the most genuine moments. When I began college, I documented my journey in photos, and it has been wonderful to see my growth as a person and as a photographer. During my first collegiate semester, I began to take photography more seriously, photographing concerts and music festivals. Since then, I’ve gotten newer equipment, focused on photographing events, lifestyle and portraits, taking this gift of mine to eight different countries, working with small / local businesses and artists. I love storytelling through my work and helping others tell their stories through this passion.
Any thoughts, advice, or strategies you can share for fostering brand loyalty?
The most efficient methods have been phone and email. I always ensure clear and timely responses, as it builds trust among my clientele. I also ensure that I understand my client’s artistic visions for their shoots, arrive early to sets and deliver quality service. Whenever clients refer other potential clients to me or leave positive reviews, it’s motivating and humbling to see how they view my mission and trust me in this venture.

Is there mission driving your creative journey?
The goal is to never stop pursuing my passion. It’s a lengthy journey that requires patience, embracing failure and practicing self-awareness. This journey has been nearly a decade in the making, and seeing the growth through my work makes everything worth the while.
