We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Iman Muhammad. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Iman below.
Hi Iman, thanks for joining us today. Do you wish you had waited to pursue your creative career or do you wish you had started sooner?
If I could go back in time I would have definitely started my content creator journey way sooner back when I was in high school. At the time I used to post a lot on Snapchat and I would watch my favorite Youtube girlies do makeup and fashion hauls. Yet I never felt I was “ready” to actually take that type of career on.
I believe starting earlier would have definitely boosted my confidence way sooner and seeing the way the social media has blown up in the past decade, I would have definitely been in a different space in my content creator career as far as gaining bigger opportunities or having a bigger community. However, I do believe that all of my life experiences led me to where I am today. Which in return has made me into the creator and human being I am. Also, think about it without a test there is no testimony to tell so I wouldn’t trade my journey for the world.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
For those who do not know my name is Iman Neha and I am currently a content creator based out of Los Angeles, CA. I focus on creating content that leaves people feeling inspired and motivated to be their true selves through my lifestyle content. My content is a combination of beauty, fashion and self motivating content. As a 25 year old creator it’s hard finding creators who are authentic and relatable so I try to be that for my community.
I am most proud of all the collabs I have been able to secure as a “micro” influencer who has just a little under 3,000 followers. I have been able to work with some of my favorite brands including Panera Bread, Ami Cole, Maison Margiela and even Armani Beauty! It has been a blessing that I do not take for granted. I also cherish the community that I am fostering and creating online and being able to reach people all over the country and eventually the world.
I want anyone who follows me or comes across my page to know that I am just a young woman in her 20s trying to figure out her life one step at a time and although my life did not go exactly as I planned I am blessed to be living out dreams that I was once so afraid to. Hopefully my testimony and storytelling can inspire others to do the same.

For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
The most rewarding aspect is seeing how many lives your content can really impact. I receive messages daily from followers saying how much my posts may have inspired them. I am still shocked and honored that just by me not being afraid to pick up my phone and record has touched so many. And I pray that God continues to allow me to reach even more people and use me as a reminder that they can do anything they put their minds to.

Is there something you think non-creatives will struggle to understand about your journey as a creative? Maybe you can provide some insight – you never know who might benefit from the enlightenment.
I think a lot of people underestimate the hard work that really goes into creating content. They just see the result of a reel or picture but have no idea the process that has went behind it. From planning out ideas, to scheduling days to shoot the content, doing your hair, makeup and fashion, shooting the content, editing and posting; IT IS A WHOLE LOT! And I’m probably leaving out more. You take on all these different hats and roles just for very shorts videos or a couple of pics but the reward is so worth it in the end. So to all my fellow non creatives, the next time you’re scrolling and see a creator post give it some love because they definitely worked hard behind the scenes.
