We were lucky to catch up with Ilana Brit Mechoullam recently and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Ilana thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. What did your parents do right and how has that impacted you in your life and career?
Honestly when my parents got divorced, I saw how hard my mum worked. I was so lucky to have a very strong, female figure in my life. We really didn’t have money growing up. I was on scholarship at private school. I was surrounded by kids that were very affluent, and I always said that one day I would make sure that I never had to feel financially uncomfortable again. I’ve always had an eye for art and a need to be self-sufficient and by the time I was twelve I began hand-making jewelry to sell to local consignment stores – my parents always supported me on my entrepreneurial journey.

Ilana, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I am a nurse practitioner that specializes in aesthetics, and I’m also the Owner of Peace.Love.Med. Aesthetic Rejuvenation, a medical spa based in Boca Raton, Florida. I’ve been nicknamed “The Nose Nurse” after my signature treatment. It’s a non-surgical nose job where I strategically inject dermal filler to refine and reshape the nose. I am known for creating natural beautiful results without the patient having to undergo surgery. At the medical spa we are best known for our work fighting the social stigma surrounding beauty enhancement procedures. We really aim to create a safe and luxurious haven for those who want to look and feel better about themselves. Our team here not only provides some of the most innovative procedures in the business, but they do so in an environment of complete and total zen. We offer the latest in non-invasive aesthetic procedures, from restorative hydrafacials, chemical peels, and Emsculpt, to transformative Morpheus 8 microneedling treatments and artfully applied botox and fillers. With a team of twelve highly skilled professionals, we are dedicated to providing the most advanced techniques in aesthetics and ensuring each customer receives the best possible care to deliver safe, effective, and stunning results.
Other than training/knowledge, what do you think is most helpful for succeeding in your field?
Having a moral compass. The first rule of practicing medicine is to do no harm. You need to make medical decisions from an ethical place, not letting your monetary goals ever guide you. Many people without a medical background decide to open up aesthetic medical practices all day long and end up making poor decisions. I see this on a weekly basis when I have to fix patients that are overfilled by other practices and should have honestly never received that much filler to ever begin with.

Do you have any insights you can share related to maintaining high team morale?
Show them gratitude and appreciation. Peace.Love.Med. is comprised of such an incredible team and tight network of passionate hard working loving individuals. They genuinely care about the patients and making sure they are so happy and that all of their needs are met. Most of our patients in the practice are out of town. A lot of accommodations need to be met and we need to be very meticulous.
