Ikeis, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today We’d love to have you retell us the story behind how you came up with the idea for your business, I think our audience would really enjoy hearing the backstory.
The name Creative Currency derives from the initial idea of finding a creative way to make money. With the opportunities individuals are exposed to in current times, there are a plethora of ways to make money and be your own “Boss”. Creative Currency was founded in 2014 by two High School juniors, Ikeis Bradley and Jaison Battle with the vision of changing the way we approach entertainment while encouraging the investment in one’s brand as well.
Creative Currency does not only function for the sole purpose of promoting the brand; nonetheless, Creative Currency stand for investment in one’s future. It is important that we drive to support strong businesses, artist, other talent and creative individuals. In the innovative world we live in today, individuals are becoming more and more likely to pursue his or her dreams and aspirations. With modern day technology making it easier to break into the entertainment industry and social media providing a social platform into mainstream media, this generation is overwhelmingly exposed to new talents and creations by the day.
By always seeking out the next trending attraction ahead of its time in the entertainment & production industries, Creative Currency promotes a culture of elevation, creativity, and quality through talent and brand development, production and events. Ikeis, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
My name is Ikeis Bradley. I am a creative professional from North Philadelphia, Pa. I have a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) focused in Communications from Lincoln University of PA.
I’ve enjoyed music and entertainment since before I could remember. In 2014, I decided to focus my career in communications & production. In pursuit of my entrepreneurial drive, I co-founded my entertainment business Creative Currency Global with a close friend, Jaison Battle.
Creative Currency Global focuses on brand development, production and events. We encourage our teams at creative currency to provide a creative feel and a unique twist to every project we work on. Since 2015, our network at creative currency produced or provided aid on over 1000 musical projects, hosted over 50 events across the east coast and worked with over a dozen brands and influencers.
Some personal skills and services of mine include graphic & website design, Branding services, video editing, creative direction for music videos and creative writing.
We’d love to hear about you met your business partner.
My business co-founder is Jaison Battle, one of my closest friends from high-school. We originally met and became friends during freshmen year of high-school, however, we did not official start the Creative Currency brand until 2014. The brand was started in result of a business & entrepreneur club that I had the opportunity to start up as an afterschool program at our school. Aside from the Afterschool entrepreneurship club, Jaison and I also sold candy together during and after school as a side hustle. This was a test to our inner hustler and helped us recognize the benefits to a well thought out business structure.
Since 2014, we’ve been refining our brands overall mission so that we are accurately satisfying our clients’ needs whether it’s event goers , personal brand clients or affiliates. Some other brand partners for Creative Currency include my blood brother Imer Bradley and Philly creative and DJ Bar-Rae Choice, who I met during college at Lincoln University of PA.
Any stories or insights that might help us understand how you’ve built such a strong reputation?
I think what helped me build my reputation within my market is me being my genuine self at all times. I am a believer in Ubuntu or the “ I am because we do are “ mentality. I believe we all ( as in the people in my community ) can win as long as we work together towards the same goals and uplift each other. We all have a role and I’m willing to play my role on the team no matter what it is as long as we all win.
I never had a specific vision for my career path, however, everything seemed to just fall into place as I went along my journey. In 2014 I got into event planning which helped me grow a genuine following in my surrounding community. In the process of throwing events I began managing artists and influencers and helping with their brands .
Over the years, I picked up a variety of skills such as creative direction, graphic design , web design , video production and more. I work towards bettering the quality of my skills and services daily and look forward to learning new things along my journey.
