Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to IiiYansaje T. Muse. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Hi IiiYansaje T., thanks for joining us today. Do you think your parents have had a meaningful impact on you and your journey?

Absolutely! I was born to parents aged 40(mom) and 44(dad), so I grew up with many values instilled in me that modern society would perhaps call “outdated. Yes, it’s true. I’m Ol’Skool! (laughs) However, following their teachings have served me well. Old school parenting came with the treat of being exposed to old school music, and that has a lot to do with the taste in music that 222.9 The Mothership Internet Radio offers.

My parents were united on many things pertaining to how my siblings and I were raised. Neither allowed by siblings and I to be spoiled, or entitled to anything. Because of them, I learned at an early age to earn what I wanted. Both of my parents are and were hard working people who only believed in earning in integrity…no shady deals, no getting over on anyone…and no cutting corners. While that is the road less traveled, and an uphill climb, it made the destinations magical, one milestone at a time. Because of them, I’ve been able to achieve the bliss of success with a clear conscience.

My father had more entrepreneur energy than my mother….the only man he ever worked for was his own father. I learned from him that it was better to struggle to do something you love, than to get paid handsomely to build someone else’s dream. He was most definitely a Capricornian Renaissance Man. The part of me that is him would not let me rest until I manifested into reality what was truly in my heart. He followed his heart over what made sense to the rest of the world, and I followed suit.

Being raised by a Taurus woman embedded a natural degree of femininity in my upbringing, and that brings a good balance to my sense of drive. My mother made sure I was filled with art, the history of my heritage, culture, and literature as a child. While she was doing that, she still took the time to make sure I knew things I needed to know as a woman. She did that in both her verbal teachings, and by striving to live the example of what she was teaching. My development was so because of her.

My parents were a team when it came to raising us. My father worked and provided so that my mother could focus on raising us as small children. Because of my parents, I was able to build on a solid foundation of creativity, integrity, faith and truth. I am so very grateful to my parents, and for anyone who reads this, know that parents are human beings who do the best they can with what they know. There is no such thing as perfect parents, but take the time to reflect on all they did right to raise you in spite of their own flaws. That is admirable. This interview is in homage to my mother, and in loving memory of my father.

222.9 The Mothership Internet Radio was founded on Monday, February 22nd, 2021 by iiiYansaje T. Muse. It is a fusion of old school music, mystic teachings, literature, poetry, and interviews. It is where 19 years of public radio experience meets 9 years of professional oratory counseling, 6 of it Orisa Priestesshood. It creates its own galaxy of sound healing and planetary alignment for the modern esoteric soul.

222.9 The Mothership Internet Radio aims to help solve two main global problems: general unrest, and spiritual cloudiness. General unrest is an issue with many variants that affects all walks of life, while music has always directly affected our vibrations. This is why 222.9 The Mothership Internet Radio is dedicated to be a place people can always tune into to hear good music in the forms of sleep meditation, ancient drums, traditional and smooth jazz, classic soul music, throwback R&B, gospel, and classic hip-hop. Good music feeds the soul, and 222.9 The Mothership Internet Radio is a positive space anyone can access at anytime, anywhere, to channel positive energy in the midst of trying times. It aims to preserve the genius of black music, while opening a stream to play independent musicians in regular rotation. Positive energy and mental stimulation are key for creating productive environments. Each song is carefully curated to create playlists of inspiration as well as to provoke thought. Each program is designed to help people grow in spirit while exploring many aspects of the human experience. The selection and astrological timing of the musical rotations are aligned in a way that gives already timeless music a higher essence. It preserves the classic tunes as well as unearths rare songs by popular artists.

Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?

It is pretty unheard of for one person to run a 24/7 radio station, so just doing that alone, aside from doing readings for people, and balancing other community responsibilities. When I first began 222.9 the Mothership Internet radio, a few people told me to my face that this couldn’t be done. For endless nights, I sacrificed sleep and social life to build the system from the ground. The sacrifice took years. I believe that many in my shoes would have quit by now, but my resilience wouldn’t let me. No matter what came my way, I never let my dreams die. Most of my life is a story of resilience paired with faith…and I love it! An instance in particular was when I got an offer from another radio station to do a show, although they knew I had my own station. They told me it was fine…as long as I never mentioned on my radio show on their station that I had my own. I turned down the offer, although their station had far more listeners than I did at the time. I decided that no one ever again would tell me what I could and could not say. I was willing to sacrifice a larger audience on a more established station to focus on building my own.. Today, my radio station, barely 2.5 years on the air, is on the same Houston Radio Stations web page with every other major station…and I’m just getting started!

Is there mission driving your creative journey?

222.9 The Mothership Internet Radio aims to normalize esoteric wisdom by keeping mystic teachings in regular rotation. They, like the musical rotations are astrologically aligned, as well as with my blog series. The teachings include wisdom in numerology, astrology, tarot, dream symbols, moon cycles, love advice, tough love wisdom, Holy Bible commentaries, and the iChing. Sleep meditation music plays at midnight to heal the chakras, and orisa drum music plays in the sun rising. 222.9 The Mothership Internet Radio is the ideal online radio station for people who love music in the genres listed, those who believe in sound healing through music, and those wanting to learn about the mysteries enough to hear them in regular rotation.
