We were lucky to catch up with Ignacio recently and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Ignacio, thanks for joining us today. Have you ever had an amazing boss? What did you learn from them? Maybe you can share a story that illustrates the kind of boss they were or maybe you can share your thoughts on what you think made them an awesome person to work for?
Well, my wife, Ximena, was the best boss I’ve ever had.
We met when we were young and have been together since college. After we got married, she became my boss. We worked together on most of our projects, including our personal stuff.
She was a trailblazing, small person with crazy and out-there ideas. But she taught me how to work towards our goals, and in the end, everything she touched became reality.
I’m happy that she led the way and chose me to be there for her. She was the best boss I could have ever imagined.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I’m a versatile individual with a diverse skill set. My primary passion lies in drumming, but I also excel as a musician, photographer, video editor, and more. My college education in audio and video technology has equipped me with a strong foundation in various projects related to these fields.
As a freelance photographer, I offer my services in Manhattan. Additionally, I work for a company that provides accommodation to students from all over the world in New York City.
On a personal note, I own a small company called ‘Aceite Diablo’ in Hell’s Kitchen, New York, that specializes in selling Chilli Oil products.

We’d really appreciate if you could talk to us about how you figured out the manufacturing process.
Talking about my chili oil products, the idea came to me when my wife and I went out to eat in Hell’s Kitchen, New York. We thought it would be a great idea to share the benefits of chili oil with others, especially those who are not used to spicy food. We wanted to make it accessible to everyone, regardless of their spice tolerance.
After deciding to pursue the idea, we realized there were many steps involved. I had to create a limited liability company, register the brand name, and attend food handling training. There were also other requirements that made it difficult to enter a commercial kitchen.
After almost two years since the idea came to mind, I was finally ready to take action. I’ve been pushing the product through social media and other means. I believe that many people are missing out on the potential health benefits of chili oil, and I’m determined to make it more accessible to them.

What’s a lesson you had to unlearn and what’s the backstory?
The lesson I believe I’ve unlearned is that nothing is instantaneous; success is the journey, not the destination.
Therefore, you must cultivate patience and composure when making decisions crucial for achieving your goals. Conduct thorough research before embarking on your journey, and you’ll be well-prepared. However, be patient as well, as there are countless possibilities for your potential customers, and you must be ready to connect with them.
It’s challenging to navigate these times, but if you truly want this to be your life, you must be able to overcome it.
