We recently connected with Iesha Jackson and have shared our conversation below.
Iesha , appreciate you joining us today. We’d love to hear about a time you helped a customer really get an amazing result through their work with you.
I started creating floral arrangements in August 2017 as I prepared for my own wedding ,upon posting on social media I was encouraged to start selling them to others. After research I got my first booking for December of that year and the rest is history. 5 years later I’ve serviced over 100+ brides and shipped to at least 25 states.
Iesha , love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
My business started as just faux floral arrangements I now offer a wide range of styles ,colors and more to appeal to couples from all backgrounds, walks of life and preference. I pride myself in always giving a 100 percent to my customers ,I keep them informed from start to finish with pictures of florals to fully constructed. My couple’s always compliment me on my skills ,my personality and the fact I offer so many ways to pay for the florals of your dreams. I’ve expanded my business to graphics and event decor most recently. I pride myself on working with all budgets and always giving top quality.
Can you talk to us about how your side-hustle turned into something more.
Upon starting my business I worked full time as Hospice Aide, so I would commit after hours to my business. It wasn’t until the pandemic happened and I was out of work I realized although I loved the medical field this was where I wanted to be my own boss ,call my own shots and create beautiful products. I researched and structured my business LLC and things, began to get business credit and learn new marketing techniques. After the restrictions were lifted I decided to go for it and January makes two years I’ve been a full time entrepreneur.
We often hear about learning lessons – but just as important is unlearning lessons. Have you ever had to unlearn a lesson?
A hard lesson I had to learn was set policies and stick to them no matter what . Always refer customers to your rules and regulations remain polite but never let anyone build or break the rules your business.
