Ibis, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. So let’s jump to your mission – what’s the backstory behind how you developed the mission that drives your brand?
I have been in the tourism industry for the pass 35 years. 17 years in hotel industry, 10 years selling and marketing Greater Miami to Latin America. The last 18 I am an interdependent contractor selling, marketing and putting Sunny Isles Beach Miami on the map; domestically and internationally.
Ibis, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
My personal brand if making sure I support my clients, community and all the teams I work with. That is the only way I can get my job done with integrity and honesty.
As for the brand for Sunny Isles Beach TMC it’s Miami; selling Sunny Isles Beach important that everyone knows that we are Miami.
Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
I was born and raised in NYC with cuban parents, that arrived in the 1950’s. Being in NE most of my life, prejudice was not in my face as it is in South Florida.
From housing to employment it was a struggle in Miami. However, I was stronge and didn’t let the racism get be down . I worked hard personally and professionally to strive.
Do you have any insights you can share related to maintaining high team morale?
Treat, people how you want to be treating. Make sure you let your team now when they do a good job. Its not all about you, your team makes you look good. Never forget to let them know.
