We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Ianasia Wainwright a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Ianasia, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Let’s talk about social media – do you manage your own or do you have someone or a company that handles it for you? Why did you make the choice you did?
I manage my own social media platforms. In my opinion is more authentic and I feel like that’s why my clients and customers relate and gravitate towards me. They say it’s an algorithm, I personally believe just be yourself! Results so far are great. I’ve thought about hiring an assistant and building a small team.
If you can’t stay motivated, stay consistent. I’ve said this a lot in interviews… STAY CONSISTENT. Think of it this way if you plant a seed and water it for 30 days, you’ll see that seed blossom into the most gorgeous flower it could ever be. Now, you plant another seed and water it sometimes, hardly ever. What do you think you’ll get? I look at my platform, business, etc. anything that involves my creativity and mindset like that.
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I’m such a multifaceted woman. I attended Mergenthaler Vocational-Technical HighSchool, where I practice and completed my apprenticeship to become an licensed hairstylist. At the time of practice I knew it was a trade I selected and had to be completed but I wasn’t really sure it would be something I would long term invest into and make it a career. I graduated. However over time I noticed the beauty industry was surely my lane. I started selling products like lashes and accessories. Still wasn’t satisfied. In 2019, a vendor from India reached out to me and asked if I wanted to make money promoting his manufacturing company. I wasn’t new to vendors and WhatsApp. I asked him lots of questions and he explained detail’s throughly. He sent me hair to sample. This hair was AMAZING! I talked about on my YouTube channel “ A Day With NAE” the hair was magnificent. After sampling because I wasn’t going to market something I didn’t try, I realized not only do I want to help market his business I want to build my own hair company. Why not? I already was doing hair and getting compliments. I purchased my own inventory and work was selling! I really wasn’t the average hair company located in Baltimore. My hair company “ ALLTHINGSAINTLLC” is the first hair company that only specializes in raw hair extensions and distribution. What is raw hair? Single donors that have imported hair directly from their temples and manufactures. No hair strand is the same or has been steamed or processed to create a certain look. We supply hair extensions and vendors.
We provide 100% Raw extensions from different oversea origins.
I knew that me naming my business @allthingsaintllc it was going to stand for something! When you think of “saint” you think “perfect” exactly what my business stands for! Our hair is perfect! Customer service is perfect! Packaging is perfect! Branding is perfect! I could go on and on.
I know I’m not the only one who gets tired of spending money on extensions anytime I get a new install. I end up spending hundreds of dollars and it didn’t last no more than two months. This is why I created my RAW hair company. For the girlies who love getting their hair done but don’t want to spend thousands of dollars. I have tested and wormed this hair for about a year before launching my business and I have used this hair over and over again. It still looks brand new. By investing into our RAW hair you can save thousands of dollars because you won’t have to buy new hair for years at a time.
My hair company literally bring out the beauty in others. I provide hair extensions, hair vendors, and I also have a wholesale program to teach and help aspiring beauty-prenuers. I provide hair services like “Quickweaves and Tape-Ins using my extensions and creating content. I am launching my own hair care line this year 2024 with a few beauty treatments that will help the girlies properly maintain their extensions.
I believe that my orginality creativity and mindset sets me apart from others. The hair industry is an extremely lucrative lane. I just believe that being a CEO isn’t just being a boss. I break it down like this
C-creative (I think outside the box)
E-empowering (I speak life into my clients, I encourage, motivate, and provide amazing service so when they leave from my chair they are smiling so proudly.) My slogan really is “brings out the inner beauty” it’s true!
Last acronym O-optimistic( I am always ahead and not with the winds and trends. That’s cool but I rather be hopeful for exciting results that everyone is use to far as hair. I’m an artist.
I am truly proud of how my business @allthingsaintllc has expanded over the years! I am now making money in my sleep with my digital products and I am booked like crazy! I am so grateful.
Alright – let’s talk about marketing or sales – do you have any fun stories about a risk you’ve taken or something else exciting on the sales and marketing side?
Wow, my most recent campaign. The 3rd restock of having hair on hand this past year was called “Hair Flix and Deals” this was for BLACK-FRIDAY. Everyone knows what “Netflix and chill is” I just came up with the most creative though and ran with it, that campaign sold out in 1 day! I wasn’t sure if I could market Netflix with hair. I damn sure did though!
How do you keep your team’s morale high?
Be honest! and communicate!
