We were lucky to catch up with Hyunbin Shin recently and have shared our conversation below.
Hyunbin, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Are you happier as a creative? Do you sometimes think about what it would be like to just have a regular job? Can you talk to us about how you think through these emotions?
I don’t think I can simply evaluate my current job for money. Meeting people and being able to record moments forever through the medium of photography is an attractive thing that can’t be traded for anything.

Hyunbin, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I’m taking pictures in the background of the Australian city of Melbourne. Now, more media is exposed to social media because many different people take pictures with their cameras. But my photographs are not irritating or overly special, but they are different from other photographers by recording the daily lives that take place around me with my special eyes.

Is there a particular goal or mission driving your creative journey?
Currently, I only take pictures in Melbourne, but when I get out of the city and meet various people and landscapes in various countries, I want to take pictures with the special perspective that I have. In the process, I also want to send a positive message to the world through pictures.
What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
I can make the things that I dream about and think about into reality, and it’s also the most rewarding part to record things that others can overlook with their own eyes, so that they can remember those moments for the rest of their lives.
