Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Hypno Hoe. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Hi Hypno, thanks for joining us today. Do you feel you or your work has ever been misunderstood or mischaracterized? If so, tell us the story and how/why it happened and if there are any interesting learnings or insights you took from the experience?
I feel like in this digital age we live in , your online footprint holds more weight than you’re actual real life presence, actions, character. I havent always been good at this & I have re-branded myself many times, attempting to find the most suitable name for my invisible, artistic soul . I used to have a very limited view of myself as a creator, I was very afraid of embracing & displaying my
performative, musical & ethereal nature. The more I realize and fulfill my purpose through my new artistic endeavors, the more I open to misjudgments of my “motivations” for making content, on social media, simply having the handle I have on social media, @HYPNOHOE, evokes a lot a unresolved feelings, specifically from “Men” , about sexuality, the more i evoke projections from these same people about my gender. Everyone sees me , and labels me as nothing but “a woman” and love to try and
market me as a “female making music.”
The ironic part is HYPNO has never called themself that, my persona is beyond the gender binary. I would NEVER say HYPNO is “man” either. HYPNO is cosmic, HYPNO is everything and nothing at the same time. HYPNO creates & breaks illusion at their will., depending on what benefits them at the moment.. Its funny how people just dont get that about me yet.
I use music and art and HYPNO as a way to finally explore myself beyond the distorted lens of the patriarchal , colonizer eyes that view me, that never stop trying to pursue me, and put me in a box, and ultimately, attempt to silence me .

Hypno, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I am an independent artist, working a regular job outside in the real world, creating everyday and just hoping to leave an eternal footprint behind thats larger than life. I have always gravitated towards the arts, I have dabbled in a bit of everything, I have ADHD and many passions, so I do so much and so little at the same time ! HAHA!
I draw, paint, free-hand and digitally,. I started making beats/instrumentals two years ago, and I have produced & written my first Single last year.
My biggest client is … myself! LOL. I am still finding my artistic tribe , Im a bit of a loner.
My artwork, visual & musical, are horror-based, esoteric, and abstract. I love to evoke strong emotions , I love to trigger people’s fears, hidden motives. Ultimately , my artwork serves to REVEAL things hidden to the average human eye, and consciousness.

Is there mission driving your creative journey?
My mission is to wake up the dead with my artwork and music, and to awaken my fans to a level of consciousness and awareness that can save themselves & the people around us, that need us dearly .
What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
The most rewarding aspect of being a multi-faceted artist, an extremely vulnerable one at that, is connecting and inspiring the people around me to be as raw and assertive with their truth, as I aim to be every day. Even if its only a few people that see my vision, those few people bring life & motivation to me and my work.
