We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Hykeem Brown. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Hykeem below.
Hykeem, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. What do you think it takes to be successful?
From my own experience I will say what it takes to be successful is being your authentic true self, remember there is only one you. It’s like a commitment to yourself, staying optimistic about life while staying focused.

Hykeem, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I’m a writer first , I found my passion with poetry when I was just 10 yrs old. I learned then I had a deeper passion , and I wrote and wrote to explore many parts of who I am. Writing brought out my abilities to be an actor and producer, I keep in mind that days like this I use to pray for so there is no set destination I have for my career, I consider myself a jack of all trades. I now have my own media company called (EmpowerTalk) that has been a great movement and life changer for myself and others. I founded Empower-talk 4 years ago and becoming a CEO has been a great journey that will be here forever to inspire and empower many. I’m a mental health advocate and Empower-talk resonates with my journey as a advocate to help many ppl in this industry.
What do you think helped you build your reputation within your market?
I would say what help build my reputation in this industry is taken risk with the mindset of positivity and optimism. Sometimes we let fear get the best of us and we can be our worst critics so with that being said if you never bet on yourself how will you ever know your great strengths or abilities.

What’s a lesson you had to unlearn and what’s the backstory?
A lesson I had to unlearn is mindsets and our minds can be a tricky thing at times if we are not to careful, what we tell ourselves and the words we choose to use or say about ourselves are powerful. So with working on your mindset and unlearning things that doesn’t help or suit us is the first step to change. Change is good it’s what you want to think that changes you so be mindful.
