Hunter, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Quality control is a challenge almost every entrepreneur has had to focus on when growing – any advice, stories or insight around how to best ensure quality is maintained as your business scales?
My company, Fairytales and Fantasy Co., is always looking to serve the highest quality entertainment in both our costumes and hair, as well as activities and performers!
When a character becomes more popular, their dresses and wigs get used more often, therefore needing more upkeep and revamps. Recently, our Ice Queen character has been receiving more bookings, so I just purchased a brand new wig and dress from two wonderful companies that are very highly rated in the princess performer community. Both are made to order and are made to withstand many uses before needing a revamp.
It is important to me that Fairytales and Fantasy Co. is improving to the highest quality possible to ensure the best experience for our customers, and that we can feel confident in our product we are serving!
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
Fairytales and Fantasy Co. is a princess and character performer entertainment business, where our performers dress as favorite characters and attend birthday parties and events! We offer a variety of package options with different activities and are always open to chatting about custom packages and adding new characters to our line up!
When I was about fourteen, a theatre friend had asked me if I would be interested in attending a birthday party as the Ice Queen. From there, I auditioned for a princess performer company and was hired. I spent several years with this company going out to birthday parties, princess brunches, and even weddings as several different princesses. In 2022, I decided it was time to branch out and create my own company, and Fairytales and Fantasy Co. was born!
I think one of the things that sets me apart from other companies like mine is my customer service and my willingness to work with a client to make sure they are happy! I am always available via email or instant messages to chat with current or upcoming clients to give them the best experience possible. I understand that they are placing their trust in me to create a magical moment for their child, and I want to do my best to create a memory they will never forget!
Can you talk to us about your experience with buying businesses?
Yes, I have bought a business before! Shortly after opening Fairytales and Fantasy Co., I was presented with the unique opportunity to purchase the materials and social media for Forever Fairytales by Allie. This Pennsylvania based company was run by a mutual friend who was ready to move on in her princess journey.
I received an amazing Facebook page with lots of followers as well as lots of costumes, wigs, materials, and props to help kickstart Fairytales and Fantasy Co. into the right direction!
I am so thankful to the team at Forever Fairytales by Allie and their generosity to help my company grow!
Any advice for growing your clientele? What’s been most effective for you?
Word of mouth is extremely important for my business! At any given party or event, there could be anywhere between five to ten families that are unfamiliar with my service. It is important to me that every party we attend sets a good first impression with all the new families I meet in hopes that they may want to work with me in the future!
Social media and reviews are always a great way to reach new clients, but seeing my business in action first hand is a different experience! I always offer business cards to give out to any families that may be interested in looking further into using my services, and will even offer discounts for return clients!
