We were lucky to catch up with Hunter Franklin recently and have shared our conversation below.
Hunter, appreciate you joining us today. Let’s start with education – we’d love to hear your thoughts about how we can better prepare students for a more fulfilling life and career.
I think we all know nowadays that attending traditional school isn’t the only path. Every day, you hear stories from the younger generation making money online—whether through a laptop or camera! As someone who completed four years of school and earned a Bachelor’s in Business, I have to say that it’s not something you HAVE to do. I don’t regret my educational journey, but if I were to advise someone on the verge of deciding, I would encourage them to consider other options.
Instead, consider working and working hard. Embrace continuous learning, acquire valuable skills, and then apply that knowledge independently. You don’t necessarily need to reinvent the wheel; sometimes, it’s about shifting your perspective to approach things differently.
School is not fulfilling for most people – they are usually fulfilling their parents dream or societies dream.

Hunter, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
Let me take you on a quick journey! It all started with a laptop and video games. I fell in love with creating YouTube videos around Minecraft, which led me to establish an online server and make a few hundred dollars.
I continued making videos, focusing on outdoor survival, hunting, fishing, and more. In Jr. High, I began hand-making and selling para-cord survival bracelets, selling so many that I got into some trouble at school. That venture brought in a few thousand dollars.
At 16, I launched a Christian apparel brand called Live for Faith, selling around ~400 units, but I wish I had utilized digital marketing more effectively back then.
Around that time, I also acquired a camera. I kept learning and growing, even though I started out not being very good. But what mattered most was having a business mindset—being able to turn creativity into profits.
Fast forward to 2021, when Brotherdale officially started with my incredible business partner, Marcus Taylor. Just two years later, we’ve become a 7-figure creative agency with an amazing team of 10!
So, what does Brotherdale offer? We are a full-scale creative agency providing video and photo production for brands and businesses. Our content is used to launch new products, digital ads, social media campaigns, and more. Clients love using our creative for paid ads, as it delivers a higher return on investment.

Are there any resources you wish you knew about earlier in your creative journey?
YouTube!!!! You can literally learn anything you need to know for FREE!
Next would be to pay for coaches and pay for courses from people that you can TRUST – this greatly speeds up the process.

Where do you think you get most of your clients from?
