We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Howard Zinhagel a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Howard, appreciate you joining us today. Do you wish you had started sooner?

I reflect on this thought constantly. I’ve been around music my whole and it’s one thing about me to be obsessing over music and making it a career. I left music when I started high school to pursue other activities such as sports. I only started realizing that I wanted to start music again after attending my first music festival in 2014. I started getting into Djing and just playing music with friends. After becoming very decent at spinning tunes I finally made the decision to start producing. I finally started releasing music before during and after lockdown in 2020. I wish this process started a lot sooner where I would never have left music. I know now what I want and that is to Dj/ Produce full time as a living. That is what i’m currently pursuing.

Howard, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?

Hello! My name is Howard “Howiezi” Zinhagel and I produce, and Dj, House and Techno music. I got into the EDM scene by attending my first festival in 2014. I was already listening to a plethora of genres including EDM at that point. Experiencing the magic and wonders at a music festival really got me hooked to the point where I wanted to make it a career. It is now 2023 and i’ve released numerous Ep’s and singles plus collabs with other artists. I still loving doing it and to this day thats what keeps me going! I love meeting new people in the scene and sharing thoughts and ideas with everyone! I’m still searching for my first show this year but it will come in due time!

Is there mission driving your creative journey?

There’s a lot I can’t explain or show emotionally so usually that tends to translate to my music! I will always do it for myself but the particular goal is to have enough support from my fans, family and friends to do this full time and succeed in the music industry! I want everyone to know they are not alone in this journey and thats what I love about this job and scene, unlimited support from everyone around you! We can all hear, see, and feel through this journey we call dance music.

How can we best help foster a strong, supportive environment for artists and creatives?

Just support artists and creatives. It’s as easy as sharing and reposting their content. It might not seem like much but it’s the biggest help an artist can have! Artists get most of their support from word of mouth and content creation so any reposts or sharing will truly be helpful. Theres a lot of popularity versus talent out there and usually popularity will win in this scene so thats where fans will step in and help!
