Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Houdinis Code. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Houdinis, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today We’d love to hear about a project that you’ve worked on that’s meant a lot to you.
We are set to release our debut album “Escape”, on January 7th, 2024. Every song on this album was recorded in a basement, 1 bedroom apartment, one of our parents houses, and even an Airbnb in the middle of nowhere.
It’s an 8 song rock album that shows what you can do with no resources. Every song on this record was produced by someone off of Fiverr and created together by 3 best friends out of Cleveland, OH.
We didn’t know what we were doing when we first put together this album and had to re-record everything almost 3-4 times. At first, we weren’t even using a metronome. The beauty of this album is it’s 3 friends figuring out how to make music together, how to record it, how to produce it, and just how to be a band.
It’s all been a risk and it’s paying off already. Two of our brand new singles have aired on 107.3 ALT CLE, a radio station we’ve been listening to since we were kids.
Houdinis, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
We are a Cleveland band called, Houdini’s Code. Our band formed as 3 best friends who just love playing music together. The band really came together after the passing of Taylor Hawkins, it made us realize that life is short and we have to finish music we’ve been working on for years.
Our dream is to make music that resonates with people all over the world. Everything we do comes from the love of playing together and wanting to create.
What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
The most rewarding aspect of being creative is the ability to inspire other artists to create. It’s all about sharing and giving people a vision to express their story.
Is there a particular goal or mission driving your creative journey?
Our goal is to continue making music and to never stop. If this makes us happy doing, then doing it should be the only thing that drives us forward. We have to let go of what other people like in this time of the world because unfortunately we aren’t making a superhero sequel or a slightly sexual pop song that gets played on TikTok. Our goal is to make rock and roll, the world someday will find this hidden treasure again, when they’re tired of algorithms and being spoon fed the same art.
