We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Hope Ramales. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Hope below.
Hope, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Can you share a story about the kindest thing someone has done for you and why it mattered so much or was so meaningful to you?
I think this questions kind of ties into WHY I chose to open my own practice, so I’ll discuss a bit about my health journey and who was able to help me.
I was losing patches of hair on my head starting at the age of 6 that my parents and I had to find ways to try and hide so that I wouldn’t be made fun of at school. I traveled to numerous doctors, went to U of M even, all of which gave me the same options: take high doses of prednisone for a short period of time to reduce my immune system function to try and stimulate hair growth or have injections in my scalp to promote hair growth. As a child, these were terrible options, and honestly still sound awful to me as an adult. Unfortunately these didn’t work, and the only other advise I was given from any other doctor was that I must be too stressed and need to learn how to relax.
Fast forward 22 years, I was falling asleep anytime I sat down, I had complete hair loss on my entire body, constant chronic bloating, and daily brain fog. I finally, through my schooling to become a chiropractor learned the importance of gut health and reducing inflammation to creating a body that functions and THRIVES. One of my best friends from school became a Naturopathic doctor who completely turned my life around for me. She ran tests on me that gave me an ultimate diagnosis for my symptoms, gave me supplement advise, and guided me through my gut healing journey. Although I’d learned some of this in my schooling, to live it was another thing. Giving me a body I love and my life back was the kindest thing someone could do for me, which she did. I now live a life feeling full of energy, no bloating, and no brain fog. I may not have a full head of hair yet, but I know this is the best healing journey my body has seen in decades.
This period of my life is what gave me the drive to start my own practice so that I could help those who feel lost, hopeless, and unheard. I know what that’s like, and I’m here to give these people the options they deserve.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
Now that I’ve discussed my WHY with you, I’ll give you an idea of what I do at Health with Hope Chiropractic.
I am a chiropractor who views every person as a whole. I like to dedicate 30-45min with every single patient at every appointment to make sure we are treating everything that needs to be treated and have enough time to discuss new or old symptoms my patient’s are experiencing. I think most people think of a chiropractor and think SPINE. While yes, this is sort of true, I also work on any joint in the body such as jaws, shoulders, feet, hands… you name it! Outside of this, I work with people to help reduce inflammation in their bodies as most of my patients tend to have chronic (meaning long term) symptoms they are struggling with. I offer treatments in my office, such as cupping and electrostimulation therapy, that are anti-inflammatory, but I also order blood work to discover root cause of symptoms, go over previous blood work done by their primary care providers, and offer supplement/nutrition advise. My patients usually leave the office with easy homework to do so that they are able to help themselves feel better and also feel more educated leaving. I find that a lot of chiropractors will ask their patients to come in 3 x per week because their patients are being educated on how to help themselves. You won’t hear me ask you to come in at that frequency, ever. I usually see new patients 1 x per week for a few weeks and then we slowly reduce the frequency as the patient is comfortable to do so. Education is a huge component of the care I give at Health with Hope.
So long story short, for people who are craving a one-on-one setting where they can feel safe and heard as well as feel like they are getting appropriate time with their provider and multiple options/referrals for any symptoms they are experiencing, I’m likely a great fit for you. For someone who wants to have a 5 minute adjustment and come in every 6 months, we are likely not going to be a great fit. That to me isn’t health care, that is a band aid.

If you could go back, would you choose the same profession, specialty, etc.?
100x over yes. I was actually an ultrasonographer in my previous career because I knew I wanted to help people in some way, but had yet to discover how. I worked in a few hospitals and knew it wasn’t where I belonged. I was tired of feeling helpless, like I couldn’t help anyone, and seeing people who were so incredibly sick and had no options. I switched to an out patient center after this in hopes that this would feel more fulfilling, but as you probably guess, it wasn’t for me. I was tired of not being part of the solution for people. Do I feel imaging is important in diagnosing and treating certain things? OF COURSE! However, I never felt like I was truly helping people to the extent I wanted to, but now that I get to be someone’s provider I have fulfilled that want. I’m grateful for my background in Ultrasound as I feel I have a well rounded view on modern medicine vs. alternative medicine and am able to see both sides when necessary, but I am forever grateful to being working in holistic medicine where I can give people natural healthy options as a start in their journey.

How’d you build such a strong reputation within your market?
Honestly, I think the way I treat my patient’s and the educational content I post on my social media has been the best reputation builder. I spend a lot of time trying to preach the things I find important in healing and educating people on movements and tips that may be beneficial for some people looking for a quick fix who may not be able to afford my care at the time. I can honestly say I haven’t had a patient leave upset with me at this point which is honestly remarkable. I know I won’t be the right fit for everyone, but I’m happy that there isn’t a single person that has left feeling upset, unheard, or treated poorly. I opened this practice to have the capacity to give to every patient the way I feel we all deserve to be treated, which means I give myself ample time for my health as well.
