We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Hope Easton. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Hope below.
Hope, appreciate you joining us today. When did you first know you wanted to pursue a creative/artistic path professionally?
After I had kind of quit cello ( classical ) and sold my cello, I ended up buying it back 6 months later and then basically went on tour with a singer signed with Hollywood Records. As soon as we went on tour I started writing songs! So my classical training has always kept me in good stead.

Hope, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
That is a loaded question. I got into the cello because my Mother was a musician/artist/crazy creative and everyone was playing an instrument, Im #4 of 4, so I didn’t care what I got I just wanted something …Of course my Mother’s preconceived intention was to have piano trio. My other sister snatched the violin before me…I have recently bought one so I can fulfill my violin envy. (far from accomplished, Yet ..:) So that is how I got into the “business” . Sorry that sounds so funny. It is the furthest thing from Business, Music, it is intangible. Though we all need to get riches from that which we do well, because we need to eat, and have clothes and a house (cant wait for that one!!). What sets me apart is just what sets everyone apart, we are each unique and different. We all have our gifts so to speak. So If someone is hiring me, working with me, performing with me, becoming my FAN! well they are getting Hope. That is basically what I am here to give, whatever that hope is for you. I am doing my best to fulfill that mission here on our beautiful blue spinning ball. Even though there is a lot of Green too!
So my music is that which coms from Hope. And then I love to play classical, pop and Jazz, to the ability that I can. I do tend to write fairly jazzy tunes with my co -writing partner, Leo Chelyapov. He of course can play circles around me. Jazzwise.
What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
I think the most rewarding aspect of being an artist, is touching people. If the music moves them in anyway they need , there is nothing more rewarding. Because even though music is intangible, it has almost a physical ability to move matter.
Do you think there is something that non-creatives might struggle to understand about your journey as a creative? Maybe you can shed some light?
Well, I really think everyone has the capacity to be creative, in whatever form that takes. I mean we were created, so that is what a human is, a creation. So to tap into your creativity is the best insight I have. And I mean there are no limitations. When I garden, I am communing with the plants even the weeds, which can be so irritating. But I wrote in my song: logic & Time, “I’m deep in the grass brushing and combing her hair, the great green wonder is the true royal heir. ….” https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xpl4DPFABqY
So whether you are writing a song, or creating a meal to die for, creativity is everywhere, you just have to tap into yours.
