Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Hope Chapman. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Hope, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Risk taking is something we’re really interested in and we’d love to hear the story of a risk you’ve taken.

I took a risk on me in 2018 when I took $200 and invested in my travel business. I was working 12hrs in the health field and one day I was on Facebook and seen a post that said “Who wants to own a Travel Business” and I have always wanted to travel the world, so I commented on the post not knowing that I had to invested in this business but I had got tired of working for someone else and making them rich. When I took a look at the business overview it was a no brainer it just made since to own my own travel business cause I was already traveling. What I didn’t know every time I booked I was leaving money on the table because commission was already build in my price and that my was going back to the hotel. I am so happy that I took that risk on me, now I help other start their own travel business. I love what I do and that’s helping others understand if you use it why not get paid on something everyone is going to do and that’s travel.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.

My name is Hope Chapman from Kalamazoo, MI moved to Memphis in 2011 to finish my nursing. I have been married for 13 years. I started my travel business in 2018 and it was the best decision I have made. I seen a post on Facebook asking who would like to own a travel business? I reached out to the young lady and she shared a business overview with me and at the time I didn’t even have $200 to invest. I had to stop getting my hair done just to save that $200 and when I did invest I was my biggest client. Travel is my product, I book family getaways, girls trip, solo trips, wedding destination, cruises. Being a business owner it’s best to always read books on personal development. I like to read books like Your First 90 Days in Network Marketing by Angel Olvera, You Owe You by Eric Thomas, The 10x Rule by Cardone Grand, Your First Year in Network Marketing by Mark Yarnell & Reid Yarnell, Go Pro by Eric Worre.

Learning and unlearning are both critical parts of growth – can you share a story of a time when you had to unlearn a lesson?

I had get my mindset right, I had to unlearn that this is not a job but my own business so that meant I had no one looking over my shoulder and I had to learn this is my business no one is going to tell me what to do but me. I had to get myself on a schedule and go by that.
