We were lucky to catch up with Hootan Hamedani recently and have shared our conversation below.

Hootan, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Can you talk to us about a project that’s meant a lot to you?

West Wood Coast Restaurant and Bar in Costa Mesa California.
Every corner of the restaurant was an inspiration from the feeling of rodeo and horses in western world. Importance of horse in Western culture, inspired us for having a focal point in the project. This center piece created different zones in the restaurant from crowded bar to quiet fine dining.
West Wood Coast creates a rodeo ranch scenery by choosing and assembling unique materials, lights, and furniture. Rustic materials are used in every corner of West Wood Coast to escalate the farmhouse rodeo effects; In addition, old- fashioned light fixtures illuminate the space in a dramatic way. Decores, Furnitures and materials are not typical, they are all designed to present Rodeo ranch.
The customers who come to West Wood Coast enjoy a very unique experience; this place detaches people from their busy life and welcomes them to an exciting rodeo ranch environment. Space has designed for both noisy and quiet crowd.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?

Hootan Hamedani is an Iranian American architect, designer, and artist, recognized for his significant contributions to interior design and architecture. Born in 1972, he began painting at the age of twelve, which sparked his passion for the arts. He pursued architecture at National University (Beheshti), graduating in 1998.
At age of 21, Hamedani commenced his teaching career at a university in Tehran, earning the title of “outstanding professor of Architecture” over his eight-year tenure.

In 2002, Hamedani relocated to the United States, where he established “13 times award-winning firm” Hootan & Associates Design Studio in 2006 based in California, the award-winning studio specializes in bar, restaurant, hotel, and residential design projects. Hamedani’s artistic endeavors extend to various mediums, including painting, jewelry, sculpture, and NFT “digital art”, with a presence in Laguna Beach, California.

Hamedani’s design philosophy emphasizes the fusion of art, architecture, and history, creating spaces and pieces that resonate with cultural significance and aesthetic appeal.

Alright – so here’s a fun one. What do you think about NFTs?

virtual reality is becoming some main aspect in our daily routine life such as communication, games, presentations or even maps in our phones to find address. NFTs help to improve our avatar and also our environment specially our urban design which we interact in daily bases.
NFT in architecture and urban design will be the next big move in metaverse.

Looking back, are there any resources you wish you knew about earlier in your creative journey?

I wish I had access to my inner and higher self sooner in my creative journey. we are part of universe and main source of creation is our inner root.
