We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Honey Thomas. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Honey below.
Honey , thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. How do you think about vacations as a business owner? Do you take them and if so, how? If you don’t, why not?
I vacation often! I believe it’s necessary to step away from your daily hustle… and breathe. Come back and look at things with fresh eyes. Reset your creative mind.
Honey , before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
Allow me to reintroduce myself!
Honey Thomas is a Chicago, Illinois native. She is an avid reader of urban fiction novels which inspired her to write her first book. The plethora of books, short stories and poems she has read throughout high school to the present day allowed her mind to escape into a world of fascination, mystery, realities and suspense. Being an author allows her to share her creative mind with the world in hopes of giving them the same escape she experienced. Honey has written and published four adult fiction books, one self-help book, and four children’s books. One of which she won an award for. Honey is currently working on her next novels.
I’m most proud of my resilience. I keep going no matter what.
I welcome constructive criticism. I understand my books may not be for everyone, however, my tribe will always find me!
Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
I wear many hats in my personal and professional life. Sometimes those same hats can get heavy and weigh me down. When this happens, I take a look at my needs and wants, then I find balance for both. I believe in work and play going hand and hand.
I don’t believe in all work and no play. Or work hard to play hard.
Who says they both can’t coexist?!
Believe me, THEY CAN!
What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
The most rewarding aspect of being a creative/writer is receiving messages/calls/emails from my audience on how much they enjoy my books. Or how a certain storyline helped them get through a real-time life situation.
