We were lucky to catch up with Homo In Training Podcast recently and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Homo In Training Podcast thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Are you happier as a creative? Do you sometimes think about what it would be like to just have a regular job? Can you talk to us about how you think through these emotions?
Unfortunately, we do not have the luxury to make our podcast our main form of income. We have to sustain regular jobs and this variety show. Most people who are artists/creatives have to do a lot without being monetized, but that’s the life of the artists. I guess our parents were right, artists do starve! But we do it for the love of the craft and are happy to juggle our creative ventures and our normal 9-5.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
The way we got into our craft was like many others… we had an epiphany during COVID-19 lol. Aside from that, in the past as a duo we were told many of times that we always asked good questions, people enjoyed conversing with us and we kept a good dialogue going. We took the dive back in 2020 and have not looked back since.
We provide entertaining viewpoints and conversations about the adventures in our daily life. But not only that, through our lives we experience very nuance life lessons that we feel aren’t being talked about. There is so much to life and so many questions we want answered, that we use this platform to really show how we don’t know nothin. But, no one does and that’s what makes us different. However, we are very upfront about the way we experience life. By using our platform we hope to show that no one is perfect and you shouldn’t be expected to. Our friendship has gone through its trials and tribulations. We would be lying if we said our relationship was perfect but we love each other, and that’s what keeps us evolving. Even if we hurt each other, we can use dialogue to work through our issues. Thats the message we hope to get across. We hope our conversations can help people feel less alone.
We are so proud to have a wide range of people on the show, especially queer voices. We are called “Homo In Training” after all! Our guests have been so open with us and shared perspectives that really made us challenge our own beliefs. The show is meant to help others process their baggage, but most of all, it’s for us. We use it as an outlet to discuss our own inner monologues to evolve as adults.

What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
It’s the listeners! We’ve had so many people tell us how certain episodes have helped them in their lives. When we put out content we don’t expect anything. We just let go, and let god! So when people let us know a certain episode has opened their eyes, it’s a heart warming feeling. It’s always our intention to put out meaningful content but when others recognize it, unprompted, we know we are doing the right thing.

Have any books or other resources had a big impact on you?
Paulo Coelho’s, “The Alchemist” is by far the most wholesome book of all time. It is appropriate for all age groups. This book really drives the message of going for your dreams and trusting in the energy and mechanisms of the world that will always help you achieve them. The book presents various scenarios where the main character is challenged… which hello isn’t that all what life is. And throughout the book, the main character is reminded how his trust in the world is all that is needed. He means well and has a dream to achieve. The messages throughout the book are a constant reminder for us that everyone has dreams and that if you stay consistent with your efforts, you will always achieve them. The universe always conspires to help you.
