Holly , looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Let’s kick things off with your mission – what is it and what’s the story behind why it’s your mission?
Ottawa Valley Boss Babes is an inclusive and welcoming community platform showcasing boss babe biz professionals across our beautiful rural communities located throughout Renfrew County, Lanark County and Outaouais, the Pontiac through our weekly podcast series, OV Boss Babes Podcast, regular sold-out events for women in business with trailblazing LOCAL keynote speakers, and content creation services for businesses looking for a little help in levelling up their biz on the socials!
I’ve always had a massive appreciation for women who beat and surpass societal norms and expectations, becoming trendsetters in their own regard as they follow their passion and pursue what they have always dreamed of doing. Whether they’re in agriculture, hospitality, retail, fashion, real estate, sports, car sales, health and fitness – I want to know about you and hear your story of what led you to becoming the boss babe you are today – and I want to give you the platform to share it!
We are all about #BABESEMPOWERINGBABES over here, along with #COMMUNITYOVERCOMPETITION, uplifting, supporting and championing one another. Because when we team up and make magic together – WE ALL RISE!

Yes of course! OV Boss Babes operates as both a hit weekly entrepreneurial podcast featuring local women in business, as well as go-to social media “hub” that provides information on local resources for business professionals, entrepreneurs, business owners and our community so that YOU can learn more about various female-owned businesses, informative events, conferences and workshops, and local business organizations throughout our rural communities.
I’m passionate about providing networking events for women in business, with opportunities to collaborate, celebrate and learn about other entrepreneurs in their community, utilizing as many female-owned biz owners as possible to help increase their visibility and support them right back! (I mean – I have you met my team?!)
You can tune in every Monday and Thursday for our latest OV Boss Babe and Boss Babe Corner episode features and the last Thursday of the month a month on our Babe Beyond the Brand series, where we spotlight Canadian women in biz that in our books, are newsworthy and think YOU should know about!
How did you build your audience on social media?
Consistency is key! Showing up regularly but not posting too frequently. Also, giving people educational, informative and eye-catching content so that it captures their attention and entices them to want more or to keep clicking through your stories. I found this to be especially the case lately, as social media is becoming more difficult to stand out in 2024 and there are so many other podcasts and businesses out there that you’ll get lost. So, you need to find a hook and have eye catching content, headlines or captions that stand out and capture people’s attention to want to watch more
Any thoughts, advice, or strategies you can share for fostering brand loyalty?
Again, consistency is key along with building authentic relationships. Keeping in touch on social media and starting conversations in the DM’s vs. commenting on their content I find is the most rewarding and sincere. Don’t get me wrong, I comment quite a bit on people’s posts and reels but sending previous and upcoming guests that I feature on the podcast before and following our conversation on the podcast typically leads to friendships, referrals and I tend to see them out at my events!
