We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Holly Jackson . We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Holly below.
Alright, Holly thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Let’s start with the story of your mission. What should we know?
I am a domestic violence and sexual assault survivor. I also am a pink warrior and have lived through being homeless while pregnant due to leaving an unsafe and toxic situation. I’m an advocate for those that cannot help themselves. I use my platform to educate on homelessness and and those who are in desperate need of services that fall through the cracks.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
A little over thirty years ago I was seven months pregnant with my oldest daughter and in a very unsafe situation. My husband at the time was very abusive and had borderline addiction and alcohol issues. After numerous attempts of him hurting me I left the situation with a backpack of clothes. At the time I was employed and I made $7.11 too much to qualify for any type of benefits or assistance, and after my 72 hour period at the homeless shelter, I was forced to leave and find refuge elsewhere. So, I lived in the streets, under bridges and in the wooded areas until I was able to save enough money for another place to live.
We’d love to hear about you met your business partner.
In 2021, Christy and I were introduced by a mutual friend because they thought we would get along well and because we both had lived through serious trauma that was the foundation of our projects. Christy ‘s husband of 25 years died in her arms after a heart attack and she started the Steven Hammer Memorial Project in his memory and I through DV , SA and homelessness.
We hit it off immediately and decided to collaborate together so we could reach more people with a combined effort.

We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
I would say that the constant and ever growing need is sometimes extremely difficult to keep up with. Due to the fact we don’t have grant writers or and big corporate sponsorships yet we have to constantly fundraise to keep us going. This causes us to have to come up with creative ideas and allow us to be as frugal as possible.
It has also afforded us the opportunity to see how generous and how much humanity really does still exist in the world today.
