Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Holly Hungerford. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Holly, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today One of the things we most admire about small businesses is their ability to diverge from the corporate/industry standard. Is there something that you or your brand do that differs from the industry standard? We’d love to hear about it as well as any stories you might have that illustrate how or why this difference matters.
Handled by Holly was created to provide couples with the best experience on their wedding day! We strive to provide our couples with a day they will forever remember, free of stress and full of special moments.
To do that, we have created a dream team that will be beside you on your big day. Our team consists of decorators, planners, servers, and coordinators, who will ensure your day goes as planned.
Our focus is always on how we can serve our couples and create a day that they will remember.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers
I love to say I’m a pastor turned planner. Formerly a kids pastor and event planner, I found myself planning weddings for friends and family, and quickly grew to love being a part of everyone’s favorite special occasion.
Coming from a ministry background really gave me a passion to serve others and that is the backbone of our company. I get the opportunity to serve couples from all walks of life, alongside an incredible team. When you choose Handled by Holly, you will have an experience unlike any other. Our team will strive to anticipate your needs before you have them and handle any and all details of your day.
What’s been the most effective strategy for growing your clientele?
The most effective strategy for growing clientele has and will always be relationships. Not only do we invest in relationships with our couples but also with every vendor we serve with. We walk away from an event with a new set of experiences and contacts we can recommend to our future couples, as well as the opportunity to serve the future couples of those vendors.
Do you have any insights you can share related to maintaining high team morale?
Maintaining high morale is so important! Everything rises and falls on leadership and that begins with being someone others want to follow.
I think two key things create that leader: leading by example and serving your staff.
Don’t just tell people what to do, but get in there and do it too. No one wants to follow a leader who just barks orders at you but isn’t willing to get their hands dirty… so don’t be that guy.
Your staff will follow the model you lay out for them and only be as effective as you are in their lives. Serve them and they’ll serve others and be loyal to you.
