Alright, Holly thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. We’d love to hear about a project that you’ve worked on that’s meant a lot to you.

So many projects and wonderful people I have been blessed to work with over the years. A home office I just completed for a widower who lost her husband last year. The office was a mess of papers, books, old furniture and unused equipment. We transformed the space to a bright, lovely ladies office with new furniture, custom storage including books, files and technology equipment. We did it in her favorite color, a light key lime green with chinoiserie wallpaper. She is the sweetest person and a dear. It was pure joy, this project.

A creative visionary with an eye for design, Holly Galbo Bopp is the founder of Habitat Modern, a boutique interior design firm based in Reno, Nevada. With an MBA in Sustainable Enterprise and over 20 years of experience spanning visual arts, retail, and entrepreneurship, Holly brings a unique blend of business savvy and creative vision. After applying her skills in publishing in New York City, Holly made her way to San Francisco and then eventually Lake Tahoe pursuing her lifelong passion for interior design. In 2023, she realized her dream of opening Habitat Modern in Reno, becoming part of the community of innovative women-owned businesses. When she’s not leading the Habitat Modern team, you can find Holly spending time with her two daughters, skiing, swinging a tennis racket, reading a great book or crafting. With her keen aesthetic and passion for sustainability, Holly designs timelessly beautiful interior spaces.

Is there a particular goal or mission driving your creative journey?

Listening, understanding and interpreting the clients wishes and vision, not your own. No ego, just being of service.

Have you ever had to pivot?

After my divorce I was not sure of myself or my next career move and out of the ashes I was given an opportunity to work with a designer who taught me everything, including what NOT to do. It changed the trajectory of my life and brings me joy every day I am able to continue to do it.
