Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Hollon Beasley. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Hi Hollon, thanks for joining us today. Do you have a hero? What have you learned from them?
I believe everyone should seek out a mentor in their life. My mentor, Rachel Romero is my hero. She has taught me how to always play and explore as an adult. When we grow old the world starts to harden us by other people’s expectations, finances, etc. We lose our freedom when we give up play and creativity for the sake of money or other’s comfortability.
Rachel has influenced the way I love myself. She showed me that it is important to love yourself fully, even the darkness in you. It all plays a part and it matters. I broke free of religious trauma from this lesson. She taught me all of this by example, not just words.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I have always been drawn to visual arts. A powerful story can be told within the art of photography and film making without words. It feels like I did not have a decision to begin this art form. It has always been something I knew I had to do because it is a gift that I posses. I started Hunni Baby Creative back in the summer of last year (2022). My goal with Hunni Baby was to empower the everyday woman to feel beautiful in her own skin. She does not need to have a model body or face to be in front of my camera and love what she sees in the final product.
I specialize in feminine portraits but have expanded to events, shows, engagement/wedding, bts, and creative direction in all forms.
I lead a monthly session called, ‘Goddess Flow’ which ties into the mission of Hunni Baby. I create a safe space for women to come and find confidence through vulnerability. Some of the things you will expect in this class is movement with breath work, meditation, practicing a confident walk, eye-gazing with yourself in the mirror, deep hip openers, and more. As women we are raised to be small, energetically and physically, for the comfortability of others.
We are breaking free from this societal standard through this work. The community I have built is strong and I am honored to witness women find themselves. We are unapologetic. We feel sexy with the absence of guilt or shame. And most importantly, we support each other.
Are there any books, videos or other content that you feel have meaningfully impacted your thinking?
These two books changed my life. The Places That Scare You by Pema Chödrön,
Man’s Search for Meaning by Viktor Frankl.
Those books taught me how to get dangerously close to my fear and anxieties. If you are not doing things that scare you, you will lose confidence and become depressed.
This impacted my career because I do not say no to something if the only reason is because I am afraid. I do not let myself make excuses. I do not let myself put out creative work that I am not proud of.
I will share with you my two favorite quotes from these books. I highly suggest you read about the authors’ stories. They are powerful people.
“Between the stimulus and response, there is a space. And in that space lies our freedom and power to choose our responses. In our response lies our growth and our freedom” – Viktor Frankl
“Do I prefer to grow up and relate to life directly, or do I choose to live and die in fear? Feelings like disappointment, embarrassment, irritation, resentment, anger, jealousy, and fear, instead of being bad news, are actually very clear moments that teach us where it is that we’re holding back. They teach us to perk up and lean in when we feel we’d rather collapse and back away. They’re like messengers that show us, with terrifying clarity, exactly where we’re stuck. This very moment is the perfect teacher, and, lucky for us, it’s with us wherever we are.” – Pema Chödrön.

Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
There was a time in my life where I was completely disconnected from my talents, gifts, and power. I was not close with God/higher power/universe. I was living out of fear and choosing people and jobs that catered to my comfort rather than my growth. I was in a bad place making bad decisions and self sabotaging. I decided to step up and quit a job that had provided me stability in order to pursue my dream of being a full time creator. As I type this I am grateful that I can say I have achieved this goal. One thing at a time. And you can make it happen.
You have to be real with yourself. There is nothing nice or cute about this step. Stop fucking around and be brutally honest on why you are not taking steps towards the life you want. Then move forward.
