We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Holli Wright a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Holli, appreciate you joining us today. So let’s jump to your mission – what’s the backstory behind how you developed the mission that drives your brand?
I have always had a passion to help others. From my many years as an elementary teacher, to being a counselor for incarcerated women and troubled teen girls; supporting others is a huge part of who I am. My passion behind starting WrightWay Support was to help business owners be able to sustainably grow their businesses without being slowed down by time consuming tasks. Not only do I want to support business owners, I also want to be a support to CEOs, non-profits, and individuals in their line of work.
Everyone needs a good support system in their life, and my mission with WrightWay is to be that support system for our clients. I want our clients to have a good relationship with my team and know that however we can help support them, we will. They can focus their attention on the tasks ahead of them, while having full confidence that my team has everything else under control.
Holli, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I am a wife and mother of two precious little boys. I live on a small farm and help tend to our animals while caring for my children at home. I was raised in rural Iowa in a large family. After graduating high school I went on to college and got my bachelors degree in elementary education and my masters degree in counseling. I have always had a passion to help others. From my many years as an elementary teacher, to being a counselor for incarcerated women and troubled teen girls: supporting others is a huge part of who I am.
I started WrightWay Support with the mission to help others be successful and achieve their goals within their work lives. Whether that be helping them to grow their business or scheduling travel plans to help support a CEO, I wanted to provide services that would help give them a support system where they needed it most.
As I started WrightWay Support, I also wanted to create a business where I had flexibility for my family and children.
My family is my top priority and having flexibility to stay home and raise them, while also bringing in an income, was important to me. I also wanted to be able to provide the same for other mothers who had professional backgrounds and were searching for a flexible job to have more time for their children.
Essentially WrightWay Support not only offers services that provide support to businesses and individuals, but also supports the family unit by providing remote jobs for mothers. Our community is only as strong as the families who create it, and I want my business to be a part of supporting those families.
WrightWay Support offers administrative services, project management, social media marketing, and website design. We offer hourly by month packages, and we customize our packages for each of our clients. Something that sets us apart from other virtual assistant businesses, is that we are a team. When you hire WrightWay Support, you are not just getting one virtual assistant. You get a team of virtual assistants. Depending on the package chosen, one supervising personal assistant is assigned with a small team of virtual assistants under them to help accomplish tasks. This system maximizes on time efficiency as well as being a personal and integral part of your business. We want our clients to be able to focus on the tasks that are most important to them, and have full confidence that everything else is being taken care of properly by our team.
Where do you think you get most of your clients from?
I have had two sources that have brought clientele to my business. The first and strongest is referrals. I have recently been focusing on growing my referral base. The second source that has brought me clientele is Facebook. Being a part of business group Facebook pages has been a great source to connect with others who are looking for services that your business offers.
How do you keep your team’s morale high?
The best advice I can give for managing a team and keeping high morale, is first to be careful whom you hire. More than just ensuring they are qualified by their resume, examine their character. Much of this can be noticed through the first interview. As far as leading a team, treat them just as such; at team. Everyone is a team player including yourself. You may be the business owner, but do not raise yourself above them as being superior to them. Treat them fairly, give them raises, and make certain their working hours support their family life. If someone is treated well, shown appreciation, paid well, and their family life is prioritized, they will more than likely work hard for you. This will
help to foster good morale within the company.
