We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Ho-soo Park a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Ho-Soo thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Who is your hero and why? What lessons have you learned from them and how have they influenced your journey?
My hero is CM Punk. This might be an odd choice as my current hero because he’s a professional wrestler in the WWE. I admire and look up to him so much because he isn’t afraid to speak his mind.
The lesson I’ve learned from him is no matter how toxic a workplace can be, it’s ok to leave for a certain amount of time and then return better than ever. I’ve personally left something to get myself better and currently for me, I’m doing better than ever.
There’s quotes that I like from him,
“I don’t smoke, I don’t drink, I don’t use drugs. That may be boring for some people, but that’s just me. That’s how I live my life. That stuff never appealed to me and I never understood getting so messed up that you can’t even walk home or remember the previous night. I choose to live my life without it.”
“I would much rather be hated for who I am, then loved for something that I am not.”
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
Hello,
My name is Ho-Soo Park. I’m currently 27 as of January 1, 2025. I’m in the Sport Stacking content creation scene. I’m considered one of the very best Sport Stacking content creators of this time as of right now. I got into YouTube back in 2010 as a beginner Sport Stacker, not knowing how to edit and everything. I winged it all and went from there. It wasn’t until I went to a charter school, aka online school, that I started getting a bit curious about video editing all on iMovie. I didn’t look at editing tutorials, I really just winged it and hoped for the best, which went great. I got increasingly into video editing until I got my laptop for Christmas and went all out on editing videos. My first community-based video was a tribute stacking video to one of my friends, Mike McCoy, which was from a bet from the Super Bowl (never bet on the Giants being beaten). I went on to make videos such as, ‘Top 10 Overall’ and ‘Fastest on the Web Holders.’
I provide a lot of filming and video editing, to name a few. I have experience in stagehand production growing up around the Hollywood Bowl & Walt Disney Concert Hall.
The problem I’ve solved is being able to multitask on editing different projects over time, which has helped a lot in certain situations.
The followers I have who know about my work are the ones of that understand how my videos are. They aren’t easy for many of them, but I do give them a helping hand in providing information that is vital for their future videos.
Video Editing has gotten me a lot of notice and has gotten me to edit videos for different brands like, ‘Sertified Casting,’ and ‘Voga Italia’ to name an example.
I mainly focus on Sport Stacking type of content, so all of my videos revolve around the Sport Stacking videos. The videos that have a lot of notice is from the ‘Fastest on the Web Holders,’ ‘Fastest around the world,’ and ‘Stacking Styles: Years of Evolution.’ I’m the type of person who would go all out on editing videos I’m still known to make the longest stacking video with an exceeding 8 hours long.
Is there a particular goal or mission driving your creative journey?
My current mission down my creative journey is a projec(k)t called, “The Roaring 20’s.” Bringing a shoutout to the actual roaring 20’s era. This actually takes a huge focus to my journey to completing a lot of stacking videos, in hopes of finishing everything stacking related before the 20’s decade comes to an end. I’ve completed phase 2 and will be going into phase 3 and 4 respectively immediately.
For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
The most rewarding aspect of being creative is seeing people enjoy my content and compliment me on how much they’ve enjoyed my videos. I hope they, too, become a Sport Stacker like me in the future. I’ve honestly inspired a lot of new-generation stackers in this day.
