We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Hitomi Gonzales a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Hitomi thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Can you talk to us about how you learned to do what you do?
“Pursuing your interest” is the first step we often overthink. We get stuck in analysis paralysis, use the excuse that it’s saturated, then delay the action verb, “pursue.” I recall spending way too much time deliberating on an instagram handle, reading books on how to get started, and struggling to niche down when in reality we discover ourselves, unravel talents, develop skills, and rebrand along the way. We’re often emulating other people’s work and if I were to go back in time to speed up the learning process, I would have just shown up authentically as myself—unapologetically in my rawest state. Get comfortable with the uncomfortable and we surpass the bounds we’ve built unconsciously. Go all in—as you are—and watch the magic that is you.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
Hi, I’m Hitomi Gonzales — Certified Functional Nutrition Counselor & Home Cook behind Eats All or Nothing.
From a young age, I felt the magic of shared meals—nothing made me more excited than a table full of seafood, spaghetti, and fries. That joy around food stayed with me, but over the years, it collided with a rollercoaster of chronic health issues—joint pain, hormonal imbalances, inflammation, weight gain, fatigue, chronic idiopathic urticaria and undiagnosed symptoms that left me feeling helpless and misunderstood.
I tried all the things—keto, calorie counting, HIIT, kickboxing, cycling, Hello Fresh, Noom—you name it. A moment of clarity sparked when I read Dr. Will Cole’s The Inflammation Spectrum. I finally found answers and healing through Functional Nutrition and lost over 40 lbs, cleared my migraines and brain fog, and reignited my energy—not by restriction, but by deeply listening to my body.
Today, I help others do the same through my blog Eats All or Nothing and my work as a Certified Functional Nutrition Counselor. I create anti-inflammatory recipes that are equal parts nourishing and nostalgic, and I guide others in finding their unique food prescription so they can ditch chronic symptoms and finally feel good in their bodies again.
What sets me apart? I’ve lived it. I’ve been the girl confused by test results and dismissed symptoms. I know what it’s like to crave both healing and joy. My work bridges science with soul—and always starts in the kitchen.
I’m most proud of building a community where people feel seen, supported, and excited to cook again. Whether you’re healing, hungry, or just here for a good bite, I got you. Let’s cook and live our best lives—together.

How about pivoting – can you share the story of a time you’ve had to pivot?
I’m constantly pivoting and that is okay. If you’ve read the Atomic Habits by James Clear, the biggest takeaway is if you can get 1% better every day for one year, you’ll end up 37 times better by the time you’re done. These days, people ask me how I edit my food content. To tell you the truth, the “how” is in the day-to-day adjustments that had incrementally grown into what it is today. If you scroll through my videos from years ago, you will see the evolution. While there can be a formula to answer the “how,” only you can set yourself apart from the rest and that is by honing in on your craft and pivoting. Experiment with what works. Take into consideration the feedback you’re receiving from your audience, reflect on whether that feedback aligns with what you perceived your mission will accomplish and adapt.
There was a time when I was producing restaurant food content. I would get invited to eat for free, but would leave feeling miserable, bloated, and unsatisfied because my body was changing and screaming for help. The food I once loved, no longer loved me back. In fact, it was a blessing in disguise because when I heard my body loud and clear that’s when I searched for answers. I discovered the Autoimmune Paleo Diet, implemented the changes to reduced the inflammation, became a student of my own body, which then led to my journey to pursuing a certification in Functional Nutrition Counseling.

Is there a particular goal or mission driving your creative journey?
At Eats All or Nothing, my mission is to help people reclaim their energy and well-being so they can fully step into the life they were meant to live. Because when we feel good in our bodies, we show up differently—in our families, in our work, in our purpose.
I know what it’s like to grind through a full-time job, build a business on the side, and try to keep it all together while your body feels like it’s working against you. I’ve lived the burnout, the chronic symptoms, the quiet frustration of not being seen or heard in the healthcare system.
That’s why I do this work.
I want you to feel empowered, not exhausted. I want you to trust your body again. Because healing isn’t just about what’s on your plate—it’s about unlocking the energy to fulfill your destiny. Whether you’re a mom who wants to be present, a dreamer building something big, or someone simply tired of feeling stuck—Eats All or Nothing is here to nourish your comeback.
