Hiral, appreciate you joining us today. Did you always know you wanted to pursue a creative or artistic career? When did you first know?
In 2006, when I was in India- Mumbai, I was working as a full time Graphics Visualizer for last 10 years and struggling for some time to paint and pursue my passion. At the same time I wanted to find a job I can live/die for. And finally I decided to walk on a different path. Started searching a purpose in Art- learning & exploring new techniques and the journey begun from there.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
I am a self taught artist. a wife of a very caring and supportive Husband, mom of a smart tweeny girl! I was passionate for art & craft since I was in my childhood but never thought to be an artist until 2006 when me & my husband planned for making a family and I was so much struggling to find some time for my passion, health and family with my over demanding full time job. That was the time I decided to find the purpose of my life and chose to walk on creative path which fits in my lifestyle. Since then I never looked back. I learned & evolved a lot during this journey. Its been so interesting and High & low at the same time.
Painting and making art has been always a passionate process for me. Its a celebration of life and how the light & colors interact. When I begin a black canvas, my thoughts become my colors and start dancing on that white surface. the whole process is being so intimate experience which gives happiness and strength to live
My work is purely influenced by my roots and culture. It is playing with acrylic flow paint, trying out some texture-collage and combining run, drip and flow effect. The process is a play date with my colors! I am so much passionate about vibrant colors.& patterns. I totally believe that there is a deep relationship between colors and emotions.
I hope my work bring the happy emotions to the viewers.
Painting takes me out of plainness of life, and helps me appreciate beauty, colors as well as soothes me.
Like painting, teaching is also my passion. I cant imagine my life without teaching. I love the fact that I’m able to share my love of art with my students and help them grow as artists and creative thinkers.
Teaching art has added purpose and meaning of my life. I’m thankful I get to spend my days sharing my passion for art with others who continually inspire me with their efforts.
What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
The whole process of creating art is so intimate and leaning experience that continues for your entire life which gives happiness and strength to live.
Being an artist is like constant learning and acceptance of different experiences. Witnessing your own growth is one of the best part of being an artist.
Is there mission driving your creative journey?
This is very important question of my life! Setting a goal. I teach at Visarts- Rockville, Artsbarn- City of Gaithersburg & @ a private highschool. Being an Educator my mission is to share more & express my unique perspective to the students & viewers through my creative process.
