We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Hillary Hawkins a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Hillary thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. What was one of the most important lessons you learned in school? Why did that lesson stick with you?
You would think an award winning actress, screenwriter, playwright, songwriter, lyricist, composer, singer, voice actor skilled in American accents, African accents, British accents, Latin American accents, African American accents, Native American accents, Caribbean accents, little girl voices, kid boy voices, teen voices, young adult voices, English vocals, Spanish vocals, Brazilian Portuguese vocals, Swahili vocals, Japanese vocals and more with a black belt in karate would have high self-esteem, but do you want to know the truth? That multilingual multitalented creative artist was struggling in the self-esteem area and was jumping through hoops trying to win everyone’s approval and acceptance not realizing that she really needed to learn to accept herself.
It wasn’t until I went for my doctoral degree at the Institute of Metaphysical Humanistic Science that I finally got to put in the work on myself and cultivate true self-acceptance and true self-esteem.
Dr. Kelley has a video floating around on YouTube that lured me in. In the video he was talking about something called “them-esteem”, which to be honest I had not heard of before, but the more and more he spoke about it, the more and more I realized that I had a chronic case of it! I would seek external validation from others, would let people’s opinions dictate my decisions, and would even do things I didn’t want to do just because other people wanted me to do them. More precedence was put on what other people thought I should do with my life than on what everything inside of me was telling me I should do, and it was adversely impacting my well-being.
But thank God I found IMHS! I told no one I was enrolling because I did not want anyone to try and talk me out of it. I had not yet cultivated the strength to fully follow through on my own decisions despite what other people think… (“them-esteem.”) I knew it was Dr. Kelley that had something to teach me and I was ready to learn.
So I enrolled in the accelerated Doctoral Degree program in Metaphysical Humanistic Science specializing in Metaphysical Communications, Spiritual Counseling, Metaphysical Ministry and Parapsychology at IMHS. On April 29, 2024 I won the Breakthrough Award! Upon successfully completing the program I also was awarded the Paragon Philosophers Award, Exemplary Student Award and the Soul Light Award for my “unusual positive transformation and profound change of spirit within the traits of self-acceptance, self-responsibility and respect for free will resulting in a heightened sense of self-awareness and self-completeness.” (IMHS).
As of December 29, 2024 I am proud to say I now have two Masters degrees achieved Summa Cum Laude, two Doctoral degrees achieved Summa Cum Laude, and best of all, self-esteem! My self-esteem does not come from all of my accomplishments and degrees, it is something deeper than that. It comes from within…
IMHS helped give me the courage and the strength to go within and trust my Inner Guide over and above the outside world. Thank you, Dr. Kelley. That lesson has been in the works for a while, and I believe I’ve finally got it!
I also believe I am now in a greater position to, as Dr. Kelley would say, “Deliver Greatness into the world!”

Is there a particular goal or mission driving your creative journey?
Healing and love have been driving forces in my creative journey.
Dr. Kelley encouraged me to create a mission statement.
Metaphysical Mission Statement: to help achieve heaven on earth through mind opening entertainment and to help people feel more loved.
What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
Being creative is the most rewarding part of being a creative. The act of creating is how I express myself, heal myself, help myself and others. Creating is how I raise frequencies and vibrations. I can create joy, love and peace through a song, a series or even a smile! I believe we can create heaven on earth through creative works, through positive programing…
The most rewarding aspect besides the pleasure that comes along with doing that which I believe God created me to do (to create), is the inner validation I receive from knowing I am putting my creative talents to good use. My creative works are designed to help raise compassion for communities that may not feel like they have a voice, to foster healing, understanding, joy and love.
I also love being able to connect with talented actors from all over the world who share my love and joy for the performing arts. As Casting Director & Creator of “Actors Anonymous Hotline” I’ve been able to handpick some really talented actors (if I do say so myself.) :) We are a diverse cast consisting of seasoned pros such as myself (Nickelodeon/Disney) and Yvone Christiana (“All Shook Up”, “Silk Stalkings”) and newbies (a few of which you can find here: https://www.hillaryhawkins.com/amazingactorsspotlight ). It is rewarding whenever I get a message from one of the actors saying “thank you”. It’s pretty special being able to discover undiscovered talent and to be able to play a part in launching their careers.
