Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Hilla BunDem. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Hilla, appreciate you joining us today. Let’s kick things off with your mission – what is it and what’s the story behind why it’s your mission?
Our Founder and Director Hilla has been diligent in creating safe spaces for people in and out of our network. He has lost 5 people to suicide. The creation of Wah DuDem became the stepping stone for over a decade.
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
Wah DuDem is a mental health organization with a “soft” approach to Suicide Prevention. Hilla has lost 5 people to suicide. Using this platform, constant SPREADING of AWARENESS has been the ultimate goal.
Wah DuDem paid services range from promotion/consultation, video, ,photography, marketing, events and artist/business management. We have a record label of the same name. These paid services fund W.D.D.’s purpose: stop suicide.
Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
Hilla highlights families and individuals that need a voice in the community. Providing platforms and endorsing love in the face adversity can sun up the mindset built.
Momma Purp has consistently supported our efforts. Daily she embodies the foundation and what a true bond between mother and son is. Wah DuDem holds Momma Purp near and dear to us. She lost her son Branden in the physical form due to Suicide. Branden a.k.a. Purp was and still is loved very dearly. She has been vigorously advocating within our organization.
Help can come in many forms. We believe if you are around people you love, there can be a shift in energy. Purpose can bring positivity. Share your love with these people. Love yourself in the process. Hilla and Purp were best friends. Losing him in the physical form has created more need to prevent others from experiencing the same loss.
Where do you think you get most of your clients from?
We here at Wah DuDem celebrate life and opportunity through our work. We organize prevention walks, community events, as well as create content through visuals and music. Loss does not mean we are empty. We have gained an ancestor. Through these efforts we bring in more clients and amplify our network.
