We recently connected with Hetal Nagaraj and have shared our conversation below.

Hetal , thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. How did you come up with the idea for your business?

The business, process of business ideas and execution, policy making, production to manufacuturing, education and professional paths runs in family itself. I have several role models of my own father, mother, aunts, uncles or ancestors such as grand parents as well that have followed all the 3 paths of success at a time in their life. Education which is by schooling/universities, business often by consistent delivery of products or services or as an investor and professional such as certifications which we often take for local laws or permits, depends on field. Most of my family or literally all of them are in multiple fields each of them are known personalities in the country of their resident in their own fields as well. All or each generation has been successful & extremely educated. Our family have seen people growing in their fields either by mastery, by delivery of consistent results or by skills and the struggles too. Knowing what to do matters at all times. The environment in my family itself is of that high vibration that it allows me to enjoy freedom and sustain life. Do more, think more.

Hetal , love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?

It runs in family itself so it is inevitable for me to not enter business. Each family in my lineage is like a world of it’s own & this is by field. I am absolutely proud & honored to be in family, strategically born with such valuable environment and people around me. I had my first awakening at the age of 15. At the age of 14, I completed my first paid project in performing arts which changed me and introduced me to possibilities of what i can do with my existing skills. The realisations of what i am got me thinking. As a trained dancer as well it woke me. That year changed my outlook to every single aspect. It made me wonder several approaches to every field. I was introduced to new fields to explore and enjoy as every parent would do and i enjoyed, mastered every field as well. I did what others could not. My consistency in delivery of projects without forsaking quality or without causing harm in all of my work was niche! I started to attract everything & everybody. It would just come to me. Creating a path was just easy then because it runs in family. People could not imagine the possibilities within the given piece of information which i could. Since then I never looked back. As of 2024, I have 20 years of education, experience & training services in 10+ fields with In-depth Knowledge of Client Servicing, Sales, Engineering-Software(s), Construction and Remodeling, Human Resource, Information Technology Staffing & Development, CRM, SAAS, ERP, B2b, B2c, Microsoft Products, Project Management, Backend Sales & Marketing, Training-Development, Business-Mergers & Acquisitions, Immigration & Documentation, Commerce & Industry, Business Processes & Infrastructure, Corporate Leadership, Organizational Leadership, Personnel Management. Proficient to handle all softwares & applications because of education in Information Technology. More information is readily available about me on www.hetaln.com. I am proud of everything as a matter of fact. I have known that education is just as important as being knowledgeable and getting skilled is just as important as being talented! everything else just follows through.

Are there any books, videos or other content that you feel have meaningfully impacted your thinking?

Not one in particular but many peers or examples, my own family is one and then my teachers, gurus and their life stories. all of them are extremely successful or have their business empires. Some are my 2nd generation bosses and it is indeed inspiring for me to look at their life to set as an example!
I am proud owner to more than 2000 books in my inhome book collection. Books such as 1. seven habits of highly effective people, 2. wings of fire by abdul kalam azad 3. rich dad poor dad 4. who moved my cheese, and several others I read often just to remind myself of “myself”. My kids enjoy reading those too. Lot of my books are infact educational materials or notes of my own colleges/classes or universities that I used to clear my exams or IQ or EQ tests or my degrees and certifications. I am also proud owner of nearly 150 dvds on movie series or collections and other 250 to 300 dvds just on performing arts. These are my own and my lineages or their videos. These were provided by my institutes or recommended by professors or teachers so do not have a specific name or are often prepared for training students. I am trained in these tests thus the materials of these are quite handful. It takes up my 25% of entire collection just the books on these. Several are encyclopedias on various fields as well and then I have books of business process, business plan and finance. Other books are business icon books, biographies, business stories and such. These couple years, i am reading about business empires and their journeys. It is fascinating to see how they got there. I often take courses too to leverage my existing talents and to keep up to trends of every product or services under my specialities.

Let’s talk M&A – we’d love to hear your about your experience with buying businesses.

I never had to buy. Most often it just came to me.
Either through my seniors or through people I knew. I never had to pay a penny for it most often because by the time it was available for sale or some dispute, i was automatically eligibile as I had participated “enough” with full results and very happy clients. I never brought issues to these brands and infact brought pride, honor, lots of money and results! I automatically made myself eligibile to be their only one who could do it because of my multi-specialities on paper and not just mere talents or calibre. My capacity to handle pressures and deliver the work was flawless according to my peers and they knew, only I could do it. Technically speaking, my performing arts fields was part time weekend or by dates/appointments only until 2019. It brought me all the way to surface for awards which boosted my other fields and specialities too.
From bringing funds to business to participation and everything within, I was a 99.99% with successful happy clients & results on paper. From my 38 brands in performing arts, 4 of them walked to me. These are Reachh Mediaa, Kalashri Institute of Classical Dances, Mirchi cinema/bollywood dance academy and Nruthyakala folk dance were the ones that were either my 2nd generation of service providers or were my own seniors who offered me those brands.
This does not mean i did not teach those specialities prior to these business or brands. I did and I had graduates too just under my name or grace and grooves name. But this classification made it very easy for awards/speciality submissions where audiences look only for those specialities. The clarity of names and brands made my submissions simpler for all the process, paperwork and identifying candidates. Otherwise, previously, it was grace and grooves and then what. bollywood?folk? bharatanatyam and then we had more paperwork. This classification made me realize that may be I should have diff brand altogether for each line because it became so easy to identify the markets and submissions. I could give one brand to somebody to do something with it. So now we have 38 brands on paper internationally.
Acquisition was easy but lengthy! Most often digital rights such as admin console, flow of emails took longer time because that is something you cannot hurry with or often depends existing infrastructure. Then we have govt process, notary, some legal work & other terms. And then we have media rights if international by each country permits or licenses. It took about 1 year roughly. Since my own self and my these brands were well established, we had other process to follow through. In this business, several candidates often change their contracts too because of change in leadership so that was other work.
