Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Hermanuella Hyppolite. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Hermanuella, appreciate you joining us today. We’d love to hear the story behind how you got your first job in field that you currently practice in.
While in nursing school, I worked as a nurse extern at a local hospital on an Orthopedic floor. Once I graduated and passed my nursing boards they hired me as a staff nurse.
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.

Do you think you’d choose a different profession or specialty if you were starting now?
Yes, I would still choose the same profession and specialty. However, if allowed to go back, I would streamline my education and aim to complete my doctorate quicker. Life events and circumstances sometimes necessitated breaks in between obtaining each degree, which extended the overall duration of my education.
Can you tell us about a time you’ve had to pivot?
At the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, I had to transition my mental health clinic, which was hybrid at the time, with me seeing about 35 % of my clients virtually and the rest in person to 100% virtual. Like most other businesses during the pandemic, the transition was difficult for my clients and staff initially. Three years later, we are 100% virtual and plan to remain that way, and the clients prefer it that way.
