Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Herman Parker. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Herman, appreciate you joining us today. Let’s talk legacy – what sort of legacy do you hope to build?
I am hoping to build a creative legacy. I can’t say for sure what people will say about me when I’m gone, especially since creativity is subjective, however I hope they will say that I was an influential content creator with unique and original ideas. I hope to be remembered for designing album covers for well know musical artists.
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
Hi, my name is Herman Parker, a digital media content creator and brand owner of ABE Media Productions. How did I get into content creating? It all started with my grandpa’s computer. When I was a youngin coming up, I would visit my grandparents alot. My grandpa had a computer and on that computer was a program called Windows Movie Maker. I would spend hours making family home videos from pics he had on his harddrive. This was my first introduction to digital content creation. Fast forward to me getting my first digital camera, I gained an interest in photography along with shooting video. Fast forward again to when I get my first smartphone, now I’m into editing videos and photoshopping photos. Throughout the years I’ve done photography and video/photo editing as a hobby, but now, fairy recently I’ve taken it more seriously and want to seek a career in these fields. Over the last year and a half, I’ve been practicing my craft, mostly album covers but some photography in there to, and posting them to my social media. As of now I have three main services, album covers, logos, or photography shoots. I hope to improve my skills in video editing and provide that as a service also. What I am most proud of is my growth of skills in the last year and a half. That being said, there is always room for improvements and growth and I look forward to reaching my full potential. What I want my future clients and current followers to know is that I’m in this for the long run. I don’t plan on leaving anytime soon and I’m always thinking about new ideas.
Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?
I have built and am still continuing to build my audience on social media mainly by word of mouth. A little bit of approaching random people as well. Advice I have to those just starting to build their own social media presence is consistency. Consistency helps to increase your audience engagement which in turn helps to grow your audience. It also builds brand recognition.
For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
For me, the most rewarding aspect of being an artist or creative is when I’ve finally finished a piece of content that I’ve been working on and I get to sit back and take it all in. Then I get to share it with my audience and hope they will have a positive reaction to it as well.
